Does Continental give you a beverage?

I noticed that now you have to pay for food on short Continental flights, but do they still give you a free beverage?

In December we had four Continental flights (two each way). They provided free beverages (soda, water, coffee, juice) on all four legs of the domestic flight. However, they do not always seem to provide snacks (i.e., pretzels) - they provided them on one of the four flights. They have snack boxes you can purchase (assume they haven't run out by the time they get to your seat).

If your flight is super short then you may only be offered juice, coffee, water and possibly nothing if the sky is choppy. If your flight is 2 hours plus and there is no turbulence then assume you will have full drink service with non alcoholic drinks and paid alcholic drinks. If you absolutely require beverages in flight then buy them past security or bring along an empty water bottle and fill it at a fountain or in the bathroom.
