does auto-confirm waitlist work better than if you ask them to call you?

i always see people recommend to use the auto-confirm waitlist vs. waitlisting and having them call you.

why is that?

does auto-confirm work better? i.e. you have a better chance of getting the room you want?

or is it just that it works "better" because you don't have to worry about missing a call?

Yes - MS can make the reservations - then notify you after it is done - if they have try to contact you before - sometimes the reservations is gone before you get a chance to call them back.

they do hold the room for 24 hours, right?

so, there's no difference as far as which one works better.

the only con is if you miss the call. is that correct?

if your phone system never misses a call yes - and you have a very good voice answering system at home - yes - otherwise if they call you and you don't answer - then no - it goes to the next person in line. they don't assume that the phone line can have trouble or that the exchange can have problems.
