Why do so many people idolise the game “Doom”? It came out in the ‘90s and uses archaic sprite technology that was rendered obsolete by the game “Quake”! Yes, it can be creepy to play, but I'd say that Quake and Doom 3 are scarier!

Because it was the first commercial game that I ever paid for. It came on 3 x 3.5 floppy disks (which I still have). It was a very immersive experience with the sounds and the surprises and you could lose a whole day playing it without knowing time had passed. It was casually tounge in cheek when it came to the sarcastic humor. All other games of that time mimicked it until the first CD game came out that was the most popular which was Myst.
<yep Jackie's hubby is an IT guy.

My dad and I used to play Doom on our Nintendo 64 and I was actually real good at Doom and could beat the first level easily but when you get to the 10th level it becomes hard and some of the monsters are scary but the end credits music is spooky
