Does anyone want to join the 120's Club?

Hey there everyone,

I've got some sort of stomach bug going that has made me feel very ill the last couple days  I've stayed on plan though :thumbsup2 It's been that TOM too (when it rains it pours) so I'm staying off the scale until Friday. Hope to see something after feeling so icky.

Hope you feel better and that you have some weight loss as a consolation prize!

Hi guys! Back from a wonderful vacation in Barbados and too flippin' scared to get on the scales!!! OMG it's terrible what a week of cocktails and no exercise can do to a gal!   Oh well, I'll cross that bridge once the jet-lag's worn off.

Hello to all those who've joined the thread recently. It's fantastic knowing we're in the same boat...:thumbsup2

...it's nice to be able to come to a thread and not get flamed for wanting to get back to a small 6 again! Often when I talk about losing weight I get nasty comments about how I'm skinny and shouldn't be worried about losing weight. Well when I've put on 20+ pounds, I'm NOT skinny. I'm not obese, but I'm still NOT skinny! I carry it all in my belly, and frankly it's uncomfortable and I do'nt feel good about myself.

I actually debated starting this thread for awhile, thinking that we'd get haters in here, and I'm glad that I've found a great group of people who are all in the same place with their weight and can understand that we feel the need to lose weight as much as those on other threads...

Anne, I also just wanted to say how much I agree with everything you said. I currently wear a size 8 bottoms and size 10 on top so I get enough "oh you don't need to lose any more weight" comments. Whatever they say, I know I need to drop another dress size all over in order to look as toned and slim as I have been in the past. IMO being small (5'2") means I show every pound and I hate the way that even a fantastic vacation comes with a weight gain side-effect! Plus I'm sick of looking chubby on photos SO I'm back on the low carb/high protein wagon and focusing on my Vow Renewal on the Disney Magic in September...

Thanks for starting this thread! :thumbsup2

Oh you'll have a ball on the cruise. We've been on 6. Hope you're on the DCL thread.

Anne, you should still be able to eat healthy when you go out for v-day. Before I did South Beach, I would get something not so healthy just because I was out to dinner. After being on SBD, I really took notice of the menu and there are so many healthy choices. ie. chicken, fish, big salads, etc. even steak is a biggie on SBD. So just stay away from the fried stuff and you'll be fine. And bring home leftovers. My b-day is next Sat. so we usually just combine the 2 and go out to eat. I've been seeing those Red Lobster commercials and YUMMY! Not the best for you, but hey, it's my b-day and 1 meal's not going to kill me.

As far as the flabbiness, I got most of it after I stopped breastfeeding last time. It's like it just clung onto my thighs "just in case" I decided to start back up. My stomach never got back to where it was either. DH said, "Well, you used to work out 5 days a week, what do you expect?" He's not being a jerk, but just sick of hearing me complain about it. I'm heading to my parent's this weekend where I'm sure there will be no veggies in sight! Grr. Last night I had a nice piece of fish, peas, and a salad. Yea, no carbs. But the trouble is, I am starving at night since the baby is burning an extra 300 calories. That's a good thing though. I usually have a yogurt or apple or something before bed. Have a healthy weekend everyone. Oh, and as far as the drinking. I guess I don't have to worry about that right now. That was a big problem before baby 1 was born, but I've slowed down alot since then. Just rotate w/ water. 1 beer, 1 water, etc. it makes a difference.

I've lost 9 lbs. since Jan. 1 and I've hit a plateau already. I just can't seem to make it to the 10 lb. mark. My goal is to lose 25 lbs. and weigh 127 lbs. or go for 27 lbs. and be a nice round 125 lbs. (we'll see how it goes). But none of that will happen if I can't get past 9 lbs. I've been doing WW and exercising, but I seem to be stuck. What can I do to jump start myself?

We're going to Citrico's, so nothing fried there that I can think of. I'll have a roll, or two, with GOBS of butter. I'll have the appetizer I always do the same one, it's shrimp in a white wine sauce with cherry tomatos and feta cheese, then either chicken or steak, then a dessert--if I can squeeze it in. I guess the roll and butter will be the big indugence, but I've taken off 8.5 pounds in under four weeks--and by then it should be 9.5 in four weeks, so I'm going to splurge for the night!

Part of it is that you are building muscle while excercising, and that weighs more than fat. So you probably are losing but don't realize it. If you really want to jump start, do a semi-fast day. Nothing but water and fresh veggies for a day. Any time I do that I lose half a pound overnight and the scale starts moving again.

Thanks, Anne. I hope that's what is happening.

My name is Anne, too! (Do you have any pics of Bono?)

Sorry, no Bono. Tonight I'm changing them to Lacey from Flyleaf and Anthony Keidis from RHCP. But don't tell anybody. ;)

WOOHOO! Down another half pound today--I've lost nine pounds since I started my diet 27 days ago!

I'm actually going to celebrate by having a small portion of roasted potatoes with my steak and veggie dinner tonight!

Anne

Down 4 lbs since start, avg about 2 lbs a week. Following WW guidelines pretty much. I've just discovered the 1 pt. Jumbo Fudgicles....oh boy. It's my reward at the end of every day. 8 lbs to go. Strength in numbers people, it's good to know you're all here.:grouphug:

After starting WW on my own on Jan. 1 I have finally lost 10 lbs. I was beginning to feel like I was stuck and would never break through that wall. I have actually lost 10.5 lbs. and I feel great! I know that I need to step it up with my exercising and I plan to. DH and I are planning to run a 5K in April so I've got to really get serious about training for that. I'm just so excited about my weigh-in today!

Hi Everyone!

I would love to join this thread! I've been trying to get pregnant for the past 9 mos, but due to a physical prob. not having any luck.:sad2:

So, I thought I would cheer myself up by losing the weight from DS:goodvibes
I started 2 weeks ago and lost 8lbs. I need to lose 22lb more! Yuck, :scared1: That seems like alot.

WDW in 2 weeks so hopefully I can lose some of that before then!

I'm out of the 140's!! Weighed in at 139 today. I know, it's still far off from my 125 goal, but I'm happy!

We have a blizzard here in OH...I'm taking a snow day and working from home today. Anyone else effected by the weather?

Congrats! We have a snow day here too. Trying not to eat the big box of chocolates that DH got me for VD.

You and I have the same goal and are losing at about the same pace. :)

I hit 137.5--the ten pound mark--yesterday. Can you say HAPPY! :cool1: I've got 12.5 to go. My original plan was to get to 127, but I've decided that I really want 125. My goal is to have it gone by April 28th.

We're going out to dinner tonight, so I'm expecting that I might plateau for a few extra days. I'm going to try to talk DH out of dessert, and only have one glass of wine.

I feel your pain, I had three boxes of Girl Scout cookies dropped off last night.

One thing I've been doing is to have a couple of dark chocolate wafers as a treat every night. They only have 18 calories each, and if you let them melt slowly in your mouth you can really stretch them out. :)

Hey there everyone!

Villans & Anne - We are all at about the same spot. Last Fri I finally slipped down to 137.8 hoping to hit 125 eventually. I really need to up the exercise portion to manage that one though.

I feel like the weight of world has been lifted from my shoulders so my stress eating has hopefully settled. I've been staying OP just having too much of certain things (nuts are my weakness).

Hope you all are handling this "sweet" holiday. I'm stearing clear of all the goodies on the counter at work. Will "treat" myself to a sugar free chocolate when I get home.

I told DF no chocolates this year so instead there is a wee little wrapped box on the table instead. Hmmm wonder what it might be :rolleyes1

I have 2 weeks before my new job starts and I need a new wardwrobe so I'm trying to be very good as u all know how fun shopping for pants can be  I'd love to be able to buy the next size down. We'll see....

Yes, we're snowed in here too. Dh took my 4x4 to work, so i cant even ditch the kids and make a run for the gym......Eating pretty well, though.

NemoMom, I spent 8.5 years trying to get pregnant, went on the South Beach Diet, lost 11 lbs. (only wanted to lose 13), and in 6 months was pregnant!! I think I had given up on nuts, peanut butter, eggs, cheese, etc. and eating all that protein gave my body the oomph it needed to get preg. I was 38 w/ baby number 1 and am having baby number 2 at 41!!! I trulyl believe SBD was the key to me getting preg. It really regulated my cycle.

Anyhow gals, I am still at 133! I think my scale is broken! I'm so happy that I haven't gained anymore weight. Only 1 lb so far and I'm out of my first trimester. I just read though that I should be gaining a lb a week from here on out though! Blah! Don't worry, I will def. not starve myself, but I am really trying to eat healthy. I know some women just go hog wild when they are preg., but I'm not doing that. I've been seeing a DQ Blizzard commercial on tv and I haven't had a Blizzard in probably 5 years, so I may just have to have one this pregnancy, but that'll probably be it. We've been snowed in for the past 2 days, so I haven't left the house, but I need to get to the farmer's market and get some fresh fruit and salad fixins!! I've also been drinking the generic totally clear fiber drink. You don't even know you are drinking a fiber supplement. When I did SBD a few years ago, I had colon cleanse everynight and that really helped take the weight off. After having the baby though, it really blew up my stomach when I had it. This stuff is great. Keep up the good work everyone.
