Does anyone own a hybrid car?

With gas prices the way they are, I was considering getting a hybrid car. My Prizm gets pretty decent gas mileage, but 50-60 miles per gallon sure sounds appealing. Who has one? How are they?

If i was in the market for a new car I'd buy an insight. I've loved that car since the day it came out. I sat in it at an auto show once. Whenever I see one i get all excited and think 'some day'. The only thing that stinks about it is it's only 2 seats.

I don't have a hybrid, but I do have a diesel Beetle that gets 40 mpg. It is an automatic. The standards get closer to 50 mpg. Diesel is about $1.65 a gallon in our area.

We seriously looked at the honda civic hybrid - but decided the extra expense of a hybrid was just too much.

We also ended up with a diesel beetle. Ours is a standard and has been getting right around 47 - 49 mpg with a pretty good mix of city and hwy driving.

Wish we could find any type of gas for $1.65 Everything is over $2.00 a gal. here!

My Prius was getting around 45 mpg the first year, dropped to 42 the second year, and this year is getting about 39 mpg. I don't know why it has dropped - maybe the batteries are getting weaker.
