So, below I started my very first PTR but sadly no one has joined me... Is anyone out there reading it? I would love for some Dis friends...

Hi, and :welcome:, to my very first PTR (please be gentle). And yes, you read that right, I am now planning not one, not two, not three, not even four, but five trips. Disclaimer: Only FOUR are to the wonderful world of Walt Disney. So, let's get this party started with the who, what, when, where, and how...

Cast:

Hi :wave2:, I'm Whitney. I am 24 and a recent college graduate. I am currently working at a marina in Cleveland until starting graduate school in January to get my Master's in School Psychology. I've been to Disney World 13 times and Disneyland 3. My favorite character is :tinker:. My favorite classic attraction is Splash Mountain and my favorite new attraction is Expedition Everest. Here's a pic of me with my fav character:

Mom: Chirsty. She's a 50-something recently retired high school teacher. She's been to WDW 12 times and DL twice. Her favorite characters are Jiminy Cricket and :eeyore:. Her favorite classic is Splash Mountain and her favorite new attraction is Soarin'. I'm sure I have better pictures of my mom but I like this one because it's right before we surprised her and told her we were staying at the Poly:

Brother: Rustin, He's 27 and lives in Burbank, CA. He works as a production assisstant on the tv show Cougartown on ABC with Courtney Cox (yes, I am very jealous too). His favorite characters are :donald: and :stitch:. His favorite classic is Splash Mountain and his favorite new attraction is Tower of Terror. Here's a pic of him on the teacups from March 2009:

And here's one of him with Courtney Cox:

Now, I could introduce my dad here. However, he is NOT a Disney fan :scared1: and won't be accompanying us on any of our trips. Here's a picture anyway, it's from April 2010 riding Toy Story Mania:

So, finally, we have my wonderful boyfriend, Ian. We've been dating for five years. He has a job working for an IT company here in Cleveland. He also isn't a big Disney fan but he supports my OBSESSION and that's what matters most . His favorite character is :goofy:. And, he claims he ONLY likes the "thrill" attractions. Here's a pic of Ian from October 2008 when the two of us went:

Welp, so now you have the WHO, tune in next time for the WHEN(s).

TTFN and See Ya Real Soon!:flower3:

Well, I don't have any readers yet but hopefully someone will come along eventually because I would love to have your thoughts and opinions. So, in this installment I am going to discuss the when(s) and where(s) of our various trips and who exactly will be on each one. I am also going to implement some Disney trivia. After each update I am going to give one question  see more details below. Now, I'm going to list my trips in order of time, though this isn't how they were booked:

#1
When: Nov. 30 - Dec. 7, 2010
Exactly Who: My mom and I
Where: WDW - Coronado Springs

#2
When: Dec. 10 - 12, 2010
Exactly Who: Ian and I
Where: Bozeman, MT - Moonlight Basin Ski Resort

#3
When: Jan. 7 - 9, 2011
Exactly Who: Ian and I
Where: WDW - All-Star Music (First Half Marathon)

#4
When: March 5 - 12, 2011 or March 19 - 26, 2011
Exactly Who: My mom and I
Where: WDW - Sheraton Vistana (we own timeshare here)

#5
When: October, 2011
Exactly Who: My mom and I
Where: WDW - Pop Century

My brother's work schedule changes a lot so his attendance is always a little ify until closer to the time, so he may or may not end up on one or more of these trips.

In my next updates, I will give more information about each of the trips (i.e. dining reservations, special events, etc.)

Now it's time for Whitney's Wonderful "World" Trivia:

Rules: please submit your answers in white font so others can answer without seeing your response should the choose. Everyone will receive one point for a correct answer. At end of every month, we'll crown a new winner. The winner (person with the most points) will receive a small prize.

Ok,

Thanks for joining in! I'm so excited I'm starting to get readers, I'll have to do an update tomorrow! Yea I get super jealous every time my brother calls me and tells me who he got to meet... Jennifer Aniston guest starred for the first episode so he got to meet her the other day too.

It's so exciting your trip is only 6 days away! Are you doing MNSSHP or F&WF? - scratch that, I'll just go read you PTR!

You're off to a better start than I am. I think you have more readers. LOL. I am more jealous of your 5 trips than I am of your brother knowing CC. :lmao:

I'm here! I love the pic of you & Tink! I can't wait to read more. Don't feel bad, I have a game going on on my PTR & only 2 are reading!

Your brother's totally cute, btw. :flower3:

:welcome: and thanks for joining in! I'm really enjoying your PTR! My five trips aren't a typical thing, I just used some weird Disney math and logic to justify all of them... My brother lives in California too and goes to Disneyland allllll the time :rolleyes1 :flower3:

Thanks for reading and :welcome:. I just read your PTR and I can't wait for the next round on Friday!

I'll join in too :goodvibes Can't wait to hear about all your trips!!!

:welcome: Glad to have you here!

I'm joining in too. Going back to read now!

Wow! I want to be part of your family!! LOL!

Haha, it's definitely an interesting one... :rolleyes1 Glad you joined in!

I'm sooo excited to finally have readers! I was dancing around my apartment last night singing about have just one! Poor Dbf thought I was crazy... Now let's get this party started!

Before I start my next update, I was just wondering if anyone wanted to dance with me? After, some more of my overused Disney math and logic, I have justified an upgrade! Dbf and I originally booked All-Star Music as our resort during Marathon Weekend however, I just couldn't stop pricing out other options. Well, when our plane ticket prices dropped, I had extra money! And to top it off, a Studio-Standard View room opened up at Bay Lake Tower! Well, I just knew that since it all happened at once it was meant to be! So using the 40% off offer I called and switched us over! I'm SOOOO excited! Here's my dance:

I am in!!!! Great PTR so far. And I agree with PP, I am way more jealous of all the trips than your brother's famous connection :rotfl: (ok, so I am a little jealous of that too, funny funny show!)

I am planning to go the first week in March so I am voting for that for your March trip! ;)

Can't wait to hear more! Congrats on the upgrade and woot woot on running your first half!!! They are addicitve!

Let's start by giving you just a little more background information. During my sophomore year of college (2007) I came home for a weekend and was talking to my parents about how stressful school was and how jealous I was that Dbf was getting to go to Florida for Spring Training with our college baseball team. When my dad said the magic words: "Do you and your mom want to go to Disney?" Now, this was before my complete Disney addiction. I liked the place and had been several times but after this trip, I became OBSESSED. Anyway, my mom and I spent 5 nights/6 days at WDW and I was hooked. We've gone back every spring since and I've managed to squeeze in a couple short trips in between. But, I've never gone more than twice in the same year before. Ok, now let me tell you a little more about Trip #1:

Because of my school schedule, we had always visited in the summer or in college, during spring break. My Dbf and I did get to spend 3 days there one October but the Christmas holidays were out unless we wanted to find the HUGE crowds that go with it. No Thank You. However, this year I had a wonderful twist of fate. I can't start Graduate School until January and my job (working for a Marina) ends at the end of November with the end of the boating season in nortern Ohio. So, what's a girl to do with a month of free time? Go to Disney World of course! I immediately called my mom and asked if she wanted to see her first Disney Christmas and of course she agreed so I started planning.

Now, I have this wonderful goal of wanting to try EVERYTHING Disney has to offer. Hotels, restaurants, special events, you name it. So, I immediately picked Coronado Springs Resort for our stay because it's the only Moderate I've never stayed at (excluding the cabins). I booked it early enough that I was able to get a room with a standard view and two queen beds instead of having to pay extra for a view or king bed (when you put 2 adults, Disney doesn't always assume you don't want to share a bed...). We are taking advantage of the Free Dining Offer this trip but once we get there, we'll be upgrading our tickets to annual passes because it's just the most economical choice. I'm so excited to have an AP as this is my first time. Next came my park days and ADRs, let me know what you think:

Nov. 30: Arrival Day
Flight leaves Pittsburgh at 6:15am and arrives in Orlando at 8:45am
(Yes, I used my Disney logic to justify taking a flight at the ridiculous hour)
Check-in at CSR and head for Magic Kingdom (I'm one of those people that HAS to visit MK first and last during each trip)
Mid-day we'll head back to the hotel to actually move into our room (assuming it's not ready at 8:45am) and change
6:00pm dinner at 1900 Park Fare (First time eating dinner here, so excited to meet the Step Sisters)
7:00-12:00 MVMCP:santa: (we've obviously never been before so and I'm so excited!)

Dec. 1: Animal Kingdom
1:00p, lunch at Yak 'n' Yeti
EMH 5-8pm (can't wait to see AK at night)

Dec. 2: Relax Day
10:30am Breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe (Never been before-excited about maple french Toast)
6:30pm Fantasmic at DHS
8:00pm dinner at T-Rex (Never been before)

Dec. 3: Epcot
5:00pm dinner at Les Chefs de France w/ CP dinner package(hoping Remy will still be there)
8:15pm showing of Candlelight Processional
9:30pm Illuminations
9:00-12:00 EMH

Dec. 4: Hollywood Studios
8:00am-9:00am EMH (we're not really morning EMH people but it was the best HS day for us)
6:00pm - Osbourne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights
8:30pm dinner at Captain's Grille (never been before)
Check out holiday decorations at BC, YC, and Boardwalk

Dec. 5: Relax Day
SLEEP IN
Head to Downtown Disney (Jim Shore is making an appearance/signing his work at DTD on this day and my mom and I are BIG fans so we're definitely going to be having one of our favorite Disney pieces signed)
SHOPPING
2:00pm lunch at Via Napoli (Never been before)
7:00-12:00 MVMCP :santa: (yes, we're going twice. I'll explain how that came to be later.)

Dec. 6: Magic Kingdom
5:10pm dinner at Kona Cafe (our absolute FAVORITE restaurant!)
EMH

Dec. 7: Heading Home :sad2:

So, what do you think? Have any of you been to any of our "new" restaurants? What are your favorites?

In the next update, I'll talk about our goals for each day and how we ended up with two MVMCPs.

:welcome: to my PTR! So glad you joined! I'm voting for the first week too but it all depends on where I get accepted to grad school. Have you run the Disney Half? Are you doing it this year? I'm so excited about it!:yay:
