I'm going to what VCU is calling a Vegas Style Comedy Show tonight (gee, can you tell what our theme for homecoming is....a casino night one night and a Vegas Style Comedy Show the next :) ) I don't have any idea what they would mean by Vegas Style, though since I've never been to Vegas. Any ideas?

Could it be a combination of things like magic gags and such? Or maybe a mixture of many differnt types of acts? Those were my first thoughts.

I would expect it would be a glitzy night and probably a bit "risque" if you know what I mean.

Sounds like fun, enjoy.

Ahutton, well there are two shows and two comics for each one. I guess that fits what you described. They're also serving us free food (tickets to the show are $5 for one show or $7 for both shows.)
Kasar, I don't know if it would be risque considering that it's a college environment (but maybe.)

It could be in some different ways..

One could be Old style 50's Vegas (ie Henny Youngman, Rodney Dangerfield... "take my wife, please.." type humor)

Another could be a T & A show..

Another could be a ventriloquist show .. and the two of them tell dirty jokes...

It was definitely a little more than risque (it was four guys...actually two shows with two guys at each show.) I could have gone to an after party....the last comedian invited all of us to go clubbing with him after the show and even offered to buy some drinks (which I thought was cool, but I didn't take him up on it.) The four comedians were Ray Ellin (who's been on MTV), Ted Carpenter (BET's Def Comedy Jam and some other comedy show), A. G. White (again BET's Def Comedy Jam) and then the guy who invited us to go clubbing with him was a guy named Brooklyn Mike (also BET's Def Comedy Jam plus the Dave Chappell-sp?-Show...he seems to be kind of comedy partners with A.G. White.)
I'm either dense or really tired (and since I can't see straight to type right now, I think it's the second) but I don't get the Hooter's reference.
