Does anyone know if the person seeing your scan can see you getting scanned??

How difficult is it to get a TSA uniform?
True. But how often do you see a TSA agent somewhere OTHER than the security checkpoint? I'm HOPING (at least) it would be a different face to the TSA agents working at the time.

every time they leave the secure area. i.e. for lunch and breaks. they have to be resceened

Then why do I see them walking the wrong way through the exit corrider? I don't ever recall seeing a TSAer go through the WTMD or WBI with the rest of those transiting the checkpoints.

You ever see all those little doors that you can't get into?? People that work at the airport, and have certain security levels, have access to the little doors.

The TSA people responsible for looking at the images are in a room, and have no access to actually see the person being scanned. The people in the room are not allowed to have any electronic equipment with them, which includes cell phones. The people in the room are not allowed to talk to each other.

I find it ridiculous to accuse TSA employees of stealing laptops, etc. Do you honestly think these people are going to give up a government job - with health insurance, life insurance and a retirement plan for a lousy $500 laptop?? Or a $1000 camera?? Please.

If one of us were to post a picture here of a naked person without a head/face would the mods let it stay? I mean heck, what's the point? :confused3
The point of posting an image as described anywhere on this forum would be to intentionally violate the DIS guidelines. That's entirely different from the Internet as a whole, over which the Webmasters here neither have nor, I'm sure, want any type of control ;)

But how much would someone pay to see a celeb??? And I wonder... would Nancy Pelosi have to go through the scan??? Or are those that are making the rules for us exempt?? And why scan the pilots when all they would have to do to bring down a plane is crash it???

You can't tell who the person is from the scan examples I have seen. You can just see that they have the parts too, but you can't really get a good view of them. You couldn't tell who's bits they are, and you can't see a clear picture of them. So there would be no way to prove what celebrity the pics were supposed to be of.

How difficult is it to get the mag stripe/bar coded ID card that all flight crew and airport employees need? That's the key.
OK, there's a question. When pilots/FA go through security, what do they do at the ID check? They don't have a boarding pass, so what does the screener look for?

Nope, but there's a huge difference between a regular old fashioned photo of naked Demi Lovato than a security back scatter photo. I have removed some security photos that were posted...as well as nude shots of celebraties.

:confused3 What ID does the TSA show? What ID do they check for the people who serve you burgers at the McDonald's in the terminal? The people who load your bags in the airline? Plenty of people work on the other side of security.

I don't know. I was asking the question to find the answer.

Anyone who knows someone who works at an airport (pilot, FA, fast food worker, TSA, bookstore, etc)... how do they go through security?

This conversation will go on for a long time. TSA has a poor PR image currently. Maybe it is well deserved.

I still believe that cargo is our weak point, not me or my kids. Until they start scanning every single piece of cargo I won't be happy. So, they get to pat all of us down, if they choose, but they don't screen all that cargo, especially the cargo that is sitting beneath me on my plane??? That's just wrong.

all employees at said airport must have airport photo id, must have store or fast food photo id. tsa has federal and airport photo id. they also have badge numbers and id numbers on their name tags. flight crew also have a system of photo id cards

I assume that they all need to show some ID. I was pointing out how silly the previous question was.

Yeah, I have seen those doors and I know for certain they are there so that some people can easily move from the "non-secure" "groundside" of the airport to the "secure" "airside" without having to go through TSA checkpoints and be scanned. That's how Alvin Crabtree brought his gun to his locker that was inside the "secure" area.

I'm not going to waste my time and this site's bandwidth posting all the reported convictions and/or plea bargains of TSAers for theft and similar crimes. Just rest assured that some TSA employees ARE that dumb. Please do a Google (or other engine) search.

I thought our checked luggage did go through some kind of screening. Or is that only at random?

I don't think that is correct. How did Alvin Crabtree do what he did. Looking at the TSAers when they enter the airport with me, I see people with lots of metal on, carrying luchboxes briefcases and other bags. Yet I never see a unifirmed TSAer going through the security lines with me. :confused3 Just makes me wonder.

Well, not that I have a definative answer to your question - but in the absence of posters claiming to be pilots or TSAers - they do have one or more badges/ID cards. They probably also have some kind of paperwork from the airline (looking at least as official as the SWA boarding pass I printed at home) assigning them to a specific flight.
