Does anyone know how to get blood out of denim?

Anyone have any advice on how to get blood (or something like it) out of denim???? I went to pick up my sister's stupid pregnant dog that I was upset about earlier and she started birthing on my fav. jean jacket.

peroxide (I don't think it bleaches denim--you may want to test a spot first)

Hydrogen peroxide- I think that's what hospitals use. I've used it before too- works well. Just start with a small area to make sure it isn't going to bleach the color- especially if the denim is very dark.

Add a little peroxide, let it bubble, rinse with water, repeat until blood is gone.

Ew gross. Hydrogen peroxide gets blood out of carpet, but I wonder if that would fade the denim. Maybe try a spot check somewhere. I think oxyclean might work too.

I swear by ZOUT. Its a concentrated cleaner. It comes w/ oxy or just regular. I think Zout is better than Shout. Soak your denim in water until your able to clean it.

Anything will clean. I will not be wearing it until it is properly sterilized and cleaned, however.

This will cost you, but it might work...take your jacket to the drycleaners. Maybe they have a solution to try and get the spot out w/o making the spot more faded or obvious.

Yeah, that's just a little gross. I agree with the Oxyclean advice. If you know anyone who uses Melaleuca they have a wonderful stain remover.

When I have blood on my jeans I just run them through the regular cycle in the washing machine. I use Tide, and I have a front loader -- I don't know if that makes a difference?

Blood is a protein stain - the best thing you can do is to blot with the peroxide and let it soak in COLD water for a while.

Believe it or not, Resolve Carpet Cleaner. I've gotten blood on my jeans before .... and it really works the best. Although Petzyme or Nature's Miracle will probably also do the trick. I don't find Oxiclean to work the best for me in this circumstance.
