Does anyone know how to get blood out of denim?

One trick I've tried is cold salt water. It worked beautifully on my favorite jeans the first time I tried it - just soaked the jeans in a bucket of cold water with a lot of salt in it. Since then I've had mixed results - sometimes it works like a dream, other times it helps but doesn't get the stain out completely.

Spit on it, then rub it in Seriously. Ok, if you can't manage to spit all over your favorite jacket, get the nature's miracle, or any other enzyme cleaner. Saliva's just the cheapest.

You know my mom says to do this BUT she says the saliva has to be the same as the person's (or canine's) whose blood it is. I have no idea if this is true or not.

Rub an ice cube vigorously over each blood spot. My daughter had a nose bleed on her favorite shirt and it worked perfectly. As for sterilizing it...you are on your own there!
