Anyone have any advice on how to get blood (or something like it) out of denim???? I went to pick up my sister's stupid pregnant dog that I was upset about earlier and she started birthing on my fav. jean jacket. :guilty:

Maybe some oxyclean...what about that nature's miracle stuff they sell in pet stores?

I'm sorry Ash. You should make your sister buy you a new jacket.

Hydrogen peroxide- I think that's what hospitals use. I've used it before too- works well. Just start with a small area to make sure it isn't going to bleach the color- especially if the denim is very dark.

Add a little peroxide, let it bubble, rinse with water, repeat until blood is gone.

Ew gross. Hydrogen peroxide gets blood out of carpet, but I wonder if that would fade the denim. Maybe try a spot check somewhere. I think oxyclean might work too.

:rotfl2: Good one.

I swear by ZOUT. Its a concentrated cleaner. It comes w/ oxy or just regular. I think Zout is better than Shout. Soak your denim in water until your able to clean it.

Aw, it's not the dog's fault :guilty: Make your sister pay for the jacket.
(I bet alot of people on the Dis would love to adopt the puppies).

The oxyclean has faded it a lot. I really love this jacket!

Um, not a chance in hades I would wear a jacket again after a dog birthed on it! :scared1:

Anything will clean. I will not be wearing it until it is properly sterilized and cleaned, however.

This will cost you, but it might work...take your jacket to the drycleaners. Maybe they have a solution to try and get the spot out w/o making the spot more faded or obvious.

Yeah, that's just a little gross. I agree with the Oxyclean advice. If you know anyone who uses Melaleuca they have a wonderful stain remover.

When I have blood on my jeans  I just run them through the regular cycle in the washing machine. I use Tide, and I have a front loader -- I don't know if that makes a difference? :confused3

Blood is a protein stain - the best thing you can do is to blot with the peroxide and let it soak in COLD water for a while.

Believe it or not, Resolve Carpet Cleaner. I've gotten blood on my jeans before :rolleyes1 .... and it really works the best. Although Petzyme or Nature's Miracle will probably also do the trick. I don't find Oxiclean to work the best for me in this circumstance.
