Does anyone have their house decorated in Disney?

I have heard that your house should reflect who you are. We are a Disney loving family and so would like to decorate our house to reflect that, but at the same time I don't want it to look childish. I would say my look would be sort of formal/casual. I am not good with words, but I will try to describe what I like. I love to change with the seasons. My colours are shades of neutral beige/taupe with many black accents (shelves, wrought iron and wicker shelves) I love candles, but don't light them often. I only like pictures that have meaning to us. I plan to use burgandy/deep red to accent with as this is my favorite color and goes with most holidays/seasons. I have two kids, 7 and 1.5 so everything has to be child proof.

I am looking for ideas. I am totally non-creative or imaginitive. I get my ideas from magazines. But there are no magazines for decorating Disney unless it is a childs room and that look is too childish. Can anyone give me any ideas or post pictures of their house for me to look at. I would really appreciate any help you can give. Thank you.

I do have a few Disney lawn decorations.

My spare bedroon is totally Disney. I've even painted Disney scene's on the walls. I collect Old Disney.

I have Disney scattered around the house. Things I've had since childhood and things I've picked up on trips. I like old Disney too. I just worked it into my decor which is 18th century/Chippendale/ whatever I like. I've never seen pics of Disney themed decor. That would be cool :cool1:
I'd love to do a Mickey black & white bathroom. Very retro. Maybe now that DS#1 is in college I can do it to his pirate:
When my DS#2 was adopted from Russia and only spoke Russian when he got here. Very frustrating for him. The Dalmation movies were the only thing he understood. That's how he started speaking English :confused3 His room was then done in the Dalmation theme.:dog2:He had :paw:paw prints on his walls, Dalmation curtains, sheets comforter and framed art. The paw prints are all that's left. Sports took over the :paw: Dalmation theme.

here are a couple from my guest room. always wanted a disney room and when we moved into our new house about a year ago - I wanted to a do one room disney and one room Hawaii. Still havent painted yet. Our guest room got the disney and our guest room bathroom got the Hawaii. The poster of disney is actually Mickey and minnie walking on a hawaiian beach that I found in Hawaii!

This is my baby Bailey - she thinks its her room

I remember a post awhile ago - I think on the community board about home decorating disney style!

kathymc,

I love the doggy decor!

I've been toying around with decorating our basement powder room with lots of my Disney memorabilia, but I'm not sure that DH would agree! I do have bits of disney here and there, but nothing serious, I'm afraid. DD has tinkerbell bedding, DS mickey sheets, and they both have posters from our recent visits to the World and Disneyland. So far, that's it.

We have a disney themed bedroom!! I framed all 4 of the park maps in black poster frames, have lot's of family trip pictures, have classic mickey border, got a deep red down comforter and curtains, went to the china cupboard and took out some mickey snowglobes, figures etc. for the dressers. I found a cool mickey lamp last year at menard's.my dd has a tinkerbell room.............got the bedding this summer at k-mart.she loves it............told dh he could display his superman stuff in the basement.... :rotfl2:

A bit too much Disney and clutter for me, but still amazing!

I love some of the custom things he has. I wonder where he gets this stuff done.

Wow :earseek: Feeling dizzney :faint:
There are so many very creative ideas there. I like the kitchen cabinets & counters.

Hi
DH and I are redoing our kitchen in Mickey Mouse. We are getting high gloss red cabinets in our kitchen going to paint the lower part of the walls red the chair railing Yellow and the top part white and get a Mickey boarder. Counter top will be either black or yellow having a hard time finding one I like. White tile for backsplash where the sink and stove, have some clingy for the tiles. All my appliances will be black and all my accessories will Mickey can't wait to get this done. It was suppose to be already being worked on but with the passing of my husbands uncle and the family house in Maine willed to my DH and BIL we had alot of running back and forth to ME. So kitchen was put on hold :sad2: Good Luck
