Our summer vacation every year is a week in a beach house in Maine. We love it and no one looks at a watch or clock. We have no schedule, sleep till whenever, eat whenever, it is wonderful.
This year we are finally taking the kids to WDW in December. This will not be like our Maine trip in that there is so much to see and do! We are going with the mindset that we are there to experience things and not loll around. Lots of lolling in June, no lolling in December.

We will be up early which is normal for us, kids will be 9, 7 and 4 at trip time and are all early risers. DH is going to be the problem. I told him we are up and at 'em early on this trip and I got the look.

Oh well! Our plan is to be up early, get a head start, early lunch, back to the hotel for resting in the afternoon and out again at night. We won't be out till all hours though, our kids are early to bed kids.
As another poster mentioned when you can go every year it is not as important perhaps to be out and about early. For us it is our first trip with the kids and honestly it will be a few years before we go back. DH is not a fan and it is not financially something we can do every year so we need to make the most of it while we are there.
