Does anyone else sleep in at Disney???

Depends on how long we are staying. Normally we sleep in until around 9am then get to the parks by 10am or so.
Sometimes 11am. We like to take our vacation at a slow pace since we go back often now. :goodvibes

We used to get there early. But the older the kids got the later we slept. And we all either run or work out before we go to the parks, too!

No sleeping in for this family. I tell them it costs too much to sleep in at WDW; they can sleep at home for free! Actually, cost has very little to do with it. I'm just like the little boy on the commercial - I'M TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP!
:mickeyjum :donald: :goofy:

I've tried to sleep in at Disney, but it's just about impossible -- too much excitement and too much to do. Sometimes sleeping in feels like I am wasting valuable time. It would be nice to do though, because vacation is supposed to be relaxing.

I'm up and out early in time for the rope drop, and I close the parks at night. I just take a big old nap in the middle of the day when it's hot and crowded in the parks. I agree with previous posters that you can catch up on sleep when you get home. I'd rather get up and out early than stand in lines after sleeping in. I also agree with another previous poster that night touring is the best. It works best for me to leave at lunchtime and return in the late afternoon. I always rent a car, so it's a quick trip back to the hotel.

Sunrise in Florida is a particularly special time. Lots of little birds out singing their hearts out. It's fairly cool and just a nice time to be out and about.

Our summer vacation every year is a week in a beach house in Maine. We love it and no one looks at a watch or clock. We have no schedule, sleep till whenever, eat whenever, it is wonderful.

This year we are finally taking the kids to WDW in December. This will not be like our Maine trip in that there is so much to see and do! We are going with the mindset that we are there to experience things and not loll around. Lots of lolling in June, no lolling in December. :thumbsup2 We will be up early which is normal for us, kids will be 9, 7 and 4 at trip time and are all early risers. DH is going to be the problem. I told him we are up and at 'em early on this trip and I got the look. :furious: :furious: Oh well! Our plan is to be up early, get a head start, early lunch, back to the hotel for resting in the afternoon and out again at night. We won't be out till all hours though, our kids are early to bed kids.

As another poster mentioned when you can go every year it is not as important perhaps to be out and about early. For us it is our first trip with the kids and honestly it will be a few years before we go back. DH is not a fan and it is not financially something we can do every year so we need to make the most of it while we are there.

Life is too short to sleep late, in our opinion.

I do understand what you are saying, but my view, a day is 24 hours. For us sleepy heads, breakfast is your lunch and your bedtime is our second wind. Same amount of hours awake. Same amount of vacation to enjoy. Just a different schedule.

Uh, that's why I said it was my opinion. I don't expect everyone to agree with it.

Our first few trips I don't think we ever slept, LOL!!! :teeth: Up early AND to bed late. As another poster stated, we needed a vacation to recover from the vacation! :lmao: Your DH may not be a fan now, but... I wasn't a fan either  (I know impossible to believe) I dragged my feet for years about going. My sister was a CM for years & I could have gone for free & I just wasn't interested. Well, from the moment I set foot in MK I was hooked, now I'm a certifiable Disney addict! My brother was the same! So your hubby may surprise you - we can only hope for your sake, huh?

Lots of pixie dust coming your way for an awesome first trip!!! pixiedust:

We slept in a little late on MGM day, and late again on the day we planned WS and another Epcot day. We also skipped a EMH at MK before heading to another park because we had already done all we wanted and we needed the rest. I went in commando in the morning, first couple of hours, then calmed down. We had a good week, because the lines were never an issue. We hit a couple of the big rides first thing, and picked up a couple of fast passes for others. Only had a couple of 20 minute (which always seemed like less) lines to stand in. But we were out early and in late, so those couple of days we really needed just a little extra time to get up and go.
But we were there for the countdown at MK, which was the main thing I wanted to see. The other parks, we usually arrived a few minutes after they had opened on our early days. The days we went to Epcot about 9:30 we glanced over at the monorail waiting to go to MK. It was packed!

No, we are up and OUT in the morning! :sunny:

We always sleep in. :) I have no reason to get up early since we have the whole day to spend at the parks. My mom and I only go to Epcot and do spend a couple of hours at the Magic Kingdom. We're not really into the rides, so there isn't any need to get up early and go on the rides.

Our days are spent at Epcot, walking around World Showcase, and enjoying the entertainment. I also spend some time with my friend who works as a performer at World Showcase and his shows are in the afternoon, so I don't need to get up early to hang out with him.
When we're at the Magic Kingdom, we only go on a couple of rides and those are the rides that don't have long lines. (small world, haunted mansion, pirates)

I love sleeping in. By the way, I just got up at 1pm! :teeth:

Sure, but I'm an odd one. I'd rather be at PI at 1 than MK at 8.

Here's my usual MK plan. Ride the bus to MK, ride the Haunted Mansion, ride Pirates, ride the TTA, see if anything else has lines, leave and go to Epcot. I can do that at 11 (and I usually do). Last time I went I rode Space Mountain and Buzz because they had no lines, and had lunch. I'm past planning anything specific.

When my two toddlers get I get up, so we probably will be at the parks by 9:30am. Dh on the other hand can sleep untill 11:00 if we let him!
On this trip it is not going to happen, so I told him once we get back from the parks we unwind and off to sleep!

princess: :goodvibes when kids were younger we were up by 6:00 am

now that they are teens,,sometimes we get up early and some days we sleep in.
Unfortunately we have never been able to stay more than 6 days

my goal next tiime is to do 10 days...which will afford us more lesiure time as well as sleep time

funny.. as the kids get older..so do me & DH...and quite frankly I like to sleep in longer as well :rotfl2: : :) :rotfl: :rotfl:

omg I guess I am middle aged :smokin: :smooth: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

If I could get everyone to sleep late, I could almost have the parks to myself in the morning. No matter what I'll be up at 5 in the morning.

I can't sleep in, just too excited about being in the World!!! I'll catch up on sleep when I get home :p
