does anyone else hate the triple sheeting at disney resorts?

Egads... I CANNOT sleep with just a sheet. I like heavy on me! Is Boardwalk Villas like this?

I really don't want to bring winter pajamas in May!

I wonder about that too. And those other hotels I listed definitely have warmer layers with their washable whites. I pack warm pjs, but that would not be an obvious packing list item for Florida travel!

before the switch i always brought shorts/tank top pj sets in the summer and capris/t-shirt pj sets for the winter.
and i always knew that i would be plenty warm even if my sister who tends to be hot blooded wanted to blast the A-/C.
now we are both chilly even when the temp in the room is turned up.

and i don't know too many others like me but i have to have a minimum amount of weight to my covers or i cannot sleep well.

so the last couple trips between being cold and not having a proper amount of weight on me i have slept terribly and easily become cranky if i don't watch myself.

I get cold on the plane for starters so I bring my own fleece throw (I have a disney one and a diva monogramed one) to use on the plane and those warm fuzzy socks. I can use these 2 warm items in my room if needed. :woohoo: I would press for that fuzzy blanket if needed.popcorn::

I so agree! For me, it's not just the cold factor, it's all about "weight." I need heavy covers. If I don't have difficulty turning over, then it's not heavy enough!;) The past few trips I have brought my own heavy quilt.

I, too, like a bit of weight on me. We usually sleep all year round with a 4.5tog feather duvet (continental quilt), but I bought a 10.5tog one last month as I always throw a second quilt on the bed from December to February. I obviously can't bring one with as it would use up all my weight allowance. I don't have any lightweight fleece blankets, either. I'll try and pick up one of those cheap market fodder ones so I've got something to snuggle under.

I hate getting into a freezing cold bed, anyway, and my arthritic knees don't thank me if I get too cold. I hate my shoulders being cold, too - I end up with a cricked neck/headache for days.

I don't have the problem of being cold in the room - I tend to run hot at night so the new sheeting is perfect for me.

My teens said they were cold and I called and got them extra blankets which worked well - if the housekeeper had brought extra sheets instead, I'd have called again until I got the actual blankets.

I had the same problem with the new bedding early last November. I was just too cold and I'm from Canada! From waay, waay north of Toronto. :rotfl: You just don't know how cold the new bedding is until you retire & then you are too tired to do much about it. I was traveling on my own then so I just grabbed the "blanket sandwich" from the other bed and piled it on mine. The next day, mousekeeping at the Pop noticed what I did, was wonderful and added a second sandwich to my bed & it did the trick. She left a little note explaining what she had done and I was happy to tip immediately for the extra service. If all else fails, try leaving a note with a tip for your mousekeeper asking for double-bedding to keep warm! Cheers!

You might be cold but at least you're not laying under a 10 year old comforter not laundered in 4 months that's been through 60 guests, spit up, baby poop, spilled soda, wet towels, etc etc etc ;) And as someone who worked in the hotel industry, I can assure you 4 months is about the average time in between washings for those old bedspreads.

Housekeeping does have real blankets, just not sure how many. For future reference, stop by the front desk and request one rather than calling. You could also try to catch housekeeping near your room during the day. You could also leave a note with a $5 bill asking for one. If they don't bring you a real blanket the first time around, push back. Sometimes it takes a few times (unfortunately) to get what you want.

My problem with the triple sheeting is that I have to climb into my bedding!!

I don't feel the cold much though so I never had a problem with the thin sheets and blanket. (heck, it's January and I'm sitting here with a tank top on!) It was Feb so I always wore long sleeve pyjamas anyway.

We live in the south and our "heat pump" is useless in winter.

1) bring a snuggie? They are lightweight.

2) put on FRESH (not what got sweaty all day) WOOL socks to wick moisture and keep your toes warm.

3) put something on your head?

4) Can you carry a small electric heating pad? That would take little luggage space. I put one near my feet and warm the mattress before I go to sleep and then turn it off. Once I'm in, the mattress stays warm enough.

Isn't there usually a spare blanket on the shelf in the closet? There was when we stayed at ASMu last year, so we just used that. The joy of it just being us two in a room with two beds is we just took the bedding off the extra bed and used that in addition to the bedding on the bed we were sleeping on.

Maybe at some places, but I know there wasn't at CBR when we were there in November.

Just back and I absolutely would have been miserable without my fleece blanket and fuzzy socks. No extra blanket in the room POFQ.

I do have to admit I thought people were exaggerating a little, they are not it was cold and my husband did work with the thermostat but it really did not help me. We had a great trip and the weather was amazing.

LOVE triple sheeting. I'd rather be a tad cold than skeeved out all night thinking about how I'm breathing in the germs of the many people who also slept under that comforter.

While we all understand this and appreciate that Disney has taken the steps necessary for our sanitary protection (finally), why can't they leave some blankets, or warmer blankets, in the rooms? Geez, is that really asking too much? Sometimes, even turning down the thermostat, the bed still feels cold. I hate the triple sheeting for that reason.

A good night's sleep is needed after a day in the parks.

I totally agree with the more sanitary sheets. I would suggest you bring your own warn cuddly items.

I love the triple sheeting. I hated the old comforters and those fuzzy blankets. I always took them off because skeeved me out. :scared: Four months in between washings? :crazy2::scared:

I think I'll see if they have a blanket and then wash it before use. I'm not paying to check a back of blankets for the pane trip after already paying Disney those rediculous room rates. You have to draw a line somewhere.
