Does anyone else get teary?

especially as we drive away and the sign says "See Ya Real Soon." That breaks me up. Then, all of a sudden, you see ugly green road signs. No more purple and black.

I also get teary that first moment that I walk under the train station and step onto Main Street. I've cried on several occassions including, but not limited to:

1) Fantasmic - at the end when Mickey says "some imagination, huh?"

2) Festival of the Lion King - I'll cry at anytime - I just love this.

3) When a CM goes out of his/her way and does something very special and "disneyesque" for us

4) The Candlelight Processional at Epcot - I lost it here.

5) American Adventure - "Ask not what your country can do for you...."

6) last monorail ride of the trip (THIS IS A BIGGIE).

I'm sappy, aren't I? Good news is my DH is sappy too.

I remember taking my niece to Disneyland 14 years ago when when she was 3 and balling like a baby when she saw Mickey and screamed with glee and jumped into his arms. (Now she rolls her eyes when I tell this story, sweet kid  )

This year is my first trip to WDW with my 4 year old DD and 2 year old DS. Can't wait!! I know I have "tearing up" written down somewhere on one of my planning sheets, LOL I will be excited enough, but seeing the excitement through their eyes will be priceless. Heck I tear up everytime DD gets excited over the Disney planning video LOL.

I think it is part of the magic hold that Disney has on us.

Ohhhh, I almost forgot about the purple roadsigns (sniff-sniff) Mickey on top of the train station waving everyone goodbye when MK closed for the evening............that was pretty teary for my DD

Oh, man....
some of the TV commericals of the last year
or so have gotten me teary, too....
Festival of the Lion King... yupyupyup...

The first time I saw Wishes, I was happy I
wasn't doing video/pics, cause my eyes were
so blurry, I wouldn't have been able to focus
a camera!

Tassie42 -good idea -just go. I was laid off
of a job a while ago in late october, and our
WDW/Fl trip was already paid for, too, so
we said, "we're going!" It really helped the
streess of layoffs, etc, and after we got back,
things looked better.... I know all about the LU
stuff -we had friends working at Indian Hill in IL
that were laid off a while ago... sigh. not a good
time.

We've got 5 weeks to go! Right now I'm
more excited/impatient to be teary about
this trip -that will happen when we get on
"Mickey's Expressway" (that's when we
see the signs saying that the county doesn't
maintain the access road(s) anymore and its
up to Disney!!) We're already planning
our days there! It can't come too soon!

Commercials, trip reports, Dis boards postings.... You name it, it gets to me . I keep blaming it on hormones

Glad my family knows I am a sap :D

I'll be the one bawling like a baby at the entrance in April :teeth:
Cathy

FOTLK and any music involved with it (no matter WHEN i hear it) I absolutly loose it! heheh

Our family doesn't cry...we just get a little pixie dust in our eyes:earsboy:

I can totally relate! It had been eight years since I had been to Walt Disney World and I didn't know what to expect, would I be disappointed, being 12 the last time I went. But I can honestly say the instance I saw the castle from afar, a tear came to my eye and I was just SO happy to be back. It was truly magical, the magic of disney really did overcome me that day.

I see Disney commercials and I well up. To boot I'll be PMS'*** really bad when we arrive next week. I've already prewarned DH that the waterworks will most likely fly BIG TIME!!!

I also tear up at the commercials, or even the specials they show on the Travel Channel..LOL
I thought I was the only one!!

I get a little misty eyes when I watch the beauty and the beast show as I am a huge fan. I am a guy so tell nobody.

LOL
Your secret is safe with us!! ;)

I get the most Disney-teary when I watch Samantha Brown sitting on the couch at the Beach Club, saying "Thank you-I will-I will have a magical day!" Gosh, there goes that lump in my throat now!
The other thing that really got me misty was when they lit the Christmas tree at Epcot last year and the spotlight got to the top. Sniff, that was so beautiful!

Wishes did it for me this last trip. I get goosebumps at Illuminations and CP.

I was holding back for all I was worth while my DD and DS were handing Santa and Mrs Claus cards they made for them thanking them for all they do for the kids of the world. The looks on the faces of Santa and Mrs Claus said it all.

I remember seeing this guy last trip and he was just balling his eyes out uncontrollably. He kept apologizing to his family which included his kids, DW and his mom and dad. His Dw kept consoling him saying it was OK. Funny thing is everyone around him understood including us. I am a guy and Ive been there many times before.

My 70 yr young Dad lost it at Cindys for my DDs Bday. It was so touching. These are memories that will last forever.

Thanks Uncle Walt! (He's really not my uncle but he seems so much like a family member)

There was a time when my husband and I weren't in a financial position to go to Disney and every time I heard "When you wish upon a star..." I would cry because I wanted to go. Now I'm at the point that as soon as I hear "When you..." the tears automatically start flowing. When we went in '97, my youngest son was a year old. We were eating lunch at the Garden Grill when my son started crying while I made up his bottle. I gave him his bottle but there was still a tear trickling down his cheek. That's when Mickey came over, bent down, wiped the tear from his cheek (wait a minute........boo, hooo, hooo, hooo), okay, I'm okay...and gave him a kiss!! Every time I look at this picture I ball my eyes out. I even started crying while reading the other postings. I used to think there was something wrong with me but I feel better after reading this.

on our last trip two weeks ago- i finally got to do see the little mermaid show at mgm studios-

on our trip last year - while we were watiting in the inside room- to go into the show- my littled one pooped- and i went to change her diaper- while my husband went ahead with our other two- so i missed it.

well while i sat their watching it this time- while arial was on the rock singing- i started to cry- i was so emotional- i kept telling myseld what 39yr old woman cries while watching the little mermaid!!!

well i composed myself by the time the show was over- we went on with our day-

when we got back to our resort- i admitted to my husband what had happened- his response was "YOU TOO"- he couldn't believe he was getting all misty eyed watching the little mermaid!!!!
boy did we laugh that night- it is wonderful being married to someone who enjoys disney as much as you do-

:Pinkbounc

Hi Folks,
This terrific poem has been posted from time to time on the Boards. It was written by a WDW Cast Member, and thought it would be appropriate to post it on this thread:)

WHY I DO MY JOB....

For the baby who takes his first steps into my arms.
For the grandma in the wheelchair who doesn't think anyone is paying attention, and then squeals with delight when I sneak up behind her.
For the little boy who is so scared he hides behind his mother, but after 10 minutes of patient "peek-a-boo", touches my finger.
For the parents who laugh when they tell their kids, "Now turn around," and I turn around too.
For every little child who hugs me and says, "I love you."
For the blind girl who runs her hands over my face and is awestruck.
For the little girl with braces on her legs who gets up and waltzes with the Beast.
For the little toddler who blows me kisses.
For the baby who sist on my lap and sucks my nose, or grabs my finger.
For the people who clap along to the music on parade route.
For the laughter.
For the Make-a-Wish child who smiles and doesn't think about his pain.
For the hugs.
For every child who REALLY believes.
For being able to act silly.
For the smiles.
For all the kids on parade route who think to themselves, "Someday I want to do that."
For the chance, however brief, to make a difference in someone's life.

"Nothing is more wonderful than the imagination, for in a moment, you can experience a beautiful fantasy, or an exciting adventure..."

I get extremely teary every time I go to WDW.
When my daughter was 2 we took her to the Crystal Palace for breakfast because she loved Winnie the Pooh & friends(being 2yrs old, they were basically the only characters she knew). When we got to our seat, she saw Piglet across the room and she started shouting "Piglet! Piglet!" at the top of her lungs. Seeing her joy was a very emotional moment.

When she was 3 she really got into the Tapestry of Nations parade and the fireworks. She was able to make a mask at the countries and place a "wish" in a basket during the parade. Listening to the music and watching her make her wish was also another tear jerker.

This year we are taking my 2nd daughter for the first time, she will be 13 months old. She will not realize who the characters are, but watching her during the parades and fireworks will also be another very emotional moment for me.

Have a magical day!!

That poem made the tears flow again! Then again it doesn't take much sometimes! Thanks for posting that....it was wonderful and totally captures everything! I would leave for Florida today if I could. My family is so excited and we really need this holiday. That poem actually rings true for us in many ways and it was lovely. Bless those CM's. I had started another thread a while back about memorable CM encounters, all of which made me teary. Another one is when Cinderella knelt down and opened her arms wide to give our DD (4) a hug, saying "Why, hello there princess!" And when DD (then 3), walked up to Snow White for her turn to say hello, opening her arms wide in front of her. SW thought DD was coming to hold her hands, but DD just wrapped her little arms around SW's skirt and held on for a huge hug. SW looked surprised at first, then knelt down to hug her back. Have to go dig out the tissues again!

:earsgirl: :earsboy: princess:

This thread is such a nice change from all the negative shareholder meeting stuff that went on this week. I thought I was the only 35 year old male who would get teary! I've actually had other guys say "wimp!" to me at Disney World when they see me teary-eyed, but I don't care. Maybe the newest amenity at the theme parks should be "tissue kiosks".

I'm getting all teary eyed and goose bumpy just reading these posts!!! I wish I were going back sometime soon, I tell people I am going thru Disney Withdrawals here!!!! WAHHHHH!!
