Does anybody but me like to dress up at WDW?

My daughter and I love clothes. We pack dresses and skirts to go out at night and look forward to doing it. Usually I hear people talking about taking a break from makeup and having to dress at WDW, but not DD and I? Do you think we look like weirdos all gussied up out to dinner at Alfredo's? I'm not sure if I care or not, we kind of usually do what we want. But I've always wondered if we look like we have sticks up our you-know-what's and I really don't want that either.

Anybody else not leave their makeup and high heels home when they go to WDW?

If I am going out to dinner I like to dress up too (maybe its an English thing, I don't know.) When we went to WDW last year I got dressed for dinner (yes I wore makeup and heels.) Although a lot of people were wearing shorts and t-shirts I noticed a few other people who like me were dressed to go out. I would wear what ever you feel comfortuble in.

DH and I usually do at least one really nice dinner and we always dress nicer for that. I will usually wear a skirt and DH will wear khakis...it's a nice change of pace and makes the evening seem more special. :)

I love dressing nicer... I really don't enjoy wearing shorts and tanks, to be honest. I would much rather be in a shirt and top.

We always plan several nice dinners each trip, and I bring clothes to change into for that. I must admit these are usally NOT places in the parks, since we do fit those in while enjoying hte parks, but we did eat at several resort restaurants and off property places.

i always enjoy having a nice dinner or two out on vacation and dressing nice =)

I'm one of the people who hates to dress up but your post just reminded me that when I would go on family vacations as a kid, we would always dress for dinner and I felt so grown up.
Maybe I'll give it a try with my daughter next time.

I like to dress up at the parks too. During the day, I'll do my hair and makeup and you won't often catch me in shorts - usually capris or a skirt or sundress. For dinner, I'll put on nice pants or a nicer skirt. I'm always comfortable and I like the look.

THANK GOODNESS! I was thinking this was going to be a thread about dressing up at the parks...LIKE THE CHARACTERS!

But, I do still wear makeup and do my hair while at the parks. I don't want to scare anyone!  ;) :teeth:

I would think it would be uncomfortable and odd. BUT if you have a AP and go there regularly to play and just wanted to do dinner dressed up, go for it. BUT, don't think people won't look at you funny. THEY WILL! It's odd to see someone dressed up at an amusement park. That's really what we are talking about.

I usually bring one 'nice' outfit for the special dinners....bet usually it's a pants outfit....don't go so far as skirt and heels. I still wear makeup every day.....want to look good for those photos with Mickey ::yes::

I always wear a skirt, but then again, I never wear shorts in the summer (they put too much emphasis on my large thighs  )

Nope, don't even think about dressing up to go to the world.
Strictly a casual affair for me. The comfyer (sp?) the better. :teeth:

 Oh we do that too!!! I like dressing up as Jasmine (you don't know me so you couldn't possibly know how terrible that would look!)

Anyway, it's good to know DD and I aren't alone out there in our heels! :wave2:

I remember seeing your prom pictures last year. I don't think you have anything to worry about. :D

I'm sure you look great! If you are blonde, then you would look like Jeanie! It's all good!

I just had this image in my head of a family walking around dressed like the characters from Winnie the Pooh! The dad is Tigger, the mom Pooh, the baby a "huney" pot, etc. Can you imagine in that heat with those hot, thick costumes!! :teeth:

With my colder weather Dockers or warmer weather shorts (most often Dockers too), and almost always button downs, short or long sleeve, I often am told I am ALWAYS dressed up at WDW, LOL.

Wait what about the makeup and high heels???LOL!;)

I wear casual clothes during the day, but I don't pack just any old thing to wear around the park, either....Usually a cute pair of shorts with layered tanks and my new balance shoes.

But yes, at night, I dress. I don't care whether I'm on vacation or not. If I'm going to a decent restaurant or to a club or bar, I always try to look my best. Of course, we don't eat in the parks at night...

I leave the hi-heels at home! Heck, I hardly wear them anyway! With all the walking at WDW, my feet would be hurtin' for certain!

I don't "dress up" but I do try to dress in somewhat nice casual clothes, not baggy t--shirts and ripped shorts (not that it is a bad thing, just not my style ;) )

I don't wear foundation and blush, but I do wear mascara, eyeliner and lip gloss and the ever important sunscreen, and my hair is always styled!

 I did too, cynsaun!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I wear a little eye make up for photo ops. My blonde lashes and brows make my face disappear if I don't. We don't go to really nice restaurants because of DS6 & DS4 (wild), but we do change into fresh t shirts and shorts to go out to the RFC!!::yes::

I enjoy dressing up, too, so I often wear a sundress and nice sandals to dinner and I don't think I've ever gotten any strange looks (maybe I just don't notice!) However, I also do my hair and makeup everyday when we go the parks so maybe I just weird that way!
