anyone have any suggestions for a good documentary to watch?
i love watching documentaries and i'm looking for some new ones to watch, s if anyone has any suggestions i'd love to hear them! :goodvibes

i recently have watched born rich (filmed by the johnson & johnson heir about insanely rich kids), the bridge (about people who jump off the golden gate bridge), gonzo (about the life of hunter s thompson)
i also really like bill maher's religulous :thumbsup2

anyways, do you guys enjoy documentaries? if so what are some of your favourites that you would suggest?

Walt and El Grupo: It is about Walt Disney's exploration/good will trip to Argentinia, Brazil and Chile. It was cool to see the old pics and also what made it into rides and animated films. :thumbsup2

i LOVE documentaries-i use my dvr and scan through 2 week periods to see what IFC and Sundance have showing to set them up to record.

an excellent one off the top of my head is "a life without pain". it is about children born with the medical condition wherein they do not have pain receptors. it shows being able to feel physical pain is necessary to ensure a person's body is maintained and card for when needed. the cases are heartbreaking, but learning how the kids and the parents deal with the challenges is inspiring.

an amusing and interesting documentary is "shalom y'all". it's done by a 3rd generation jewish man from new orleans who undertakes a roadtrip through the south to learn about the history and culture of the jewish people of that region. it's tasteful, informing and at times very funny.

EXCELLENT one-and available at blockbuster last time i checked.

speaking of blockbuster, they have a pretty good selection. i picked up one there a couple of years ago that realy details the whole deal with roman polanski. in light of current developments in that case it might be one the o/p would enjoy ('roman polanski wanted and desired'). another one (if you like legal issues) is 'a.k.a. tommy chong', it deals with his court case and subsequent incarceration.

Awesome documentary about the origin of women's wrestling. The star of the show is "The Great Moolah", who is still alive. These are probably some of the toughest broads that ever lived.

BBC Radio has excellent documentaries! There are some scattered throughout their channels on demand (under programmes), but many are on BBC4. I :love:

This one is really intriguing, in spite of the subject matter. A true "Good vs. Evil" story.

I really enjoyed the one on the code braekers at Bleackly Park.
It was amazing to see pictures of one the first computer and the guy who made it. And how fast it actually did the task.

I thouight the documnetay was very well done.

I enjoyed the Natitanal Parks one as well. At least the parts I saw.
