Not sure where to post this question, so I picked Resorts since that is where this type of fishing is offered. Has anyone done this recently? I was going to book one of the fishing excursions for DH and DS while I shopped, but with the cost of the excursions, there wouldn't be any $$$ for me to shop. My evil plan was re-instated when I saw that there is dockside fishing available at POFQ, POR and the Campground. Has anyone done this recently? The $4/hour cost appeals to my budget better than the $270 bass excursion cost
Thanks.

I am interested in knowing this same thing! We were hoping to stay at POR, and wanted my boys to do the cane fishing one morning. If there are no discounts out for our time and we book at ASMO could they go over to fish? Do you have to stay there to take part in that amenity ?

I asked Disney today, and they said no, you do not have to be staying at the Resort to take part in the dockside fishing. There is also a kids fishing excursion, for kids 6-12 years old, that is about $30 per child, but they do go by themselves with guides.

thanks for that info!! Sounds like a nice idea, head over to POR in the AM for some Cane fishing, then take the boat to DTD for a lunch at WolfgangPuck Express then bus it back to our resort for some swimming! I am looking into some different things to do this time and this is wonderful:lovestruc

I've done 3 and soon to be 4 fishing excursions, they are expensive but worth the money for the amount and size of fish you catch. There are discounts out there (20% off in the Birnbaum etc) that make it more affordable. You can take a 1 pm excursion and with discount and tip pay around $200.00.

We've done the dockside fishing as well at POR and all I can say is don't waste your time and money. They may catch 1, maybe 2 small bluegill in an hour if there lucky.

thanks for the heads up that the Dockside fishing is a waste of time. I never hear anyone really talk about it, but thought it sounded like a fun time for the boys. It helps to hear from other:goodvibes

I got my idea of these boards and DH is an avid bass fisherman. Our family is staying in the FW cabins but I also booked a one night Premium package for DH and DS(adult) @ the campground. (cheapest Premium package). They won't be staying there, just checking in, they will be staying @ the cabins but it gets them 2 days of unlimited bass fishing excursions. They will be doing 2~ 6 hour excursions~ yes, they enjoy fishing this much, more than Disney!!! (approx $1400 if booked through Disney without the Premium package). I went through AAA and got the package for $555 ($10 cheaper than Disney) and we get two La Nouba tickets (anyone in the party can use them, DH will pick the tickets up with his ID then anyone in our party can use them), they get 6 meals (almost anywhere, including Fulton's, any signature is only 1 credit and 4 snacks and a refillable mug too. DH and I will be eating at Fulton's for a late dinner for 2 nights since DH will have the Premium Package card....I called, Fulton's requires one person in the party to have a card only and DS can care less about Fultons!!!! Sounds scammish but I am shelling out an additional $555 on top of the Fort Wildnerness Cabins.....:confused3
