Do your guides call you while visiting WDW?

Exactly HOW MANY TIMES will this thread appear. This must be about the 10th "does your guide call you" thread LOL!

Now, mine doesn't and I don't want him too. I don't buy the theory on here. No your guide doesn't love you, he/she loves your CASH. They call to remind you that they are around if you have the urge to spend LOL!

I guess if you think about it 10 threads in 10 years isn't so bad. For US DVC newbies this question is still a first.

We went on our first DVC trip shortly after we purchased. He didn't call us then, but we are going again. We will see if we get the infamous call.

Our guide, Glenn, calls at the beginning of each trip. He welcomes us home and invites us to contact him about ad ons, etc.

I think it's a nice touch.:goodvibes

Glenn has called us, too. Except this last trip at the start of the new year. A nice "welcome home" and an invite to call him. Of course, last May we did call for an SSR addon. I do like the calls from the point of view of being treated well as a customer. I'm under no illusions that I am anything but a customer (not a friend) but it makes me feel valued, and it makes me feel like DVC (or at least my guide/salesperson) understands this is a long term relationship, and not a "Get their money and move on to the next person" situation.

The capitalist in me nods in approval. :thumbsup2 Treating customers well, and creating the feeling of being special is not done out of kindness and altruism, but because the lifetime value of more-than-satisfied customers is substantial compared to ambivalent customers (think add-ons, referrals, bringing friends and family, etc).

As we've seen in other discussions in other threads, keeping customers feeling special gets harder and harder as your customer base grows.

Our guide calls EVERY time we are there, usually twice per trip. Normally it is once on our check in day to welcome us to our "home away from home" and then again on the day before we depart to wish us a safe trip back to our other home. Each messages always includes a brief reminder of how to reach him...for add-on's.

At least he uses the phone system and leaves messages directly to our mailbox without 'calling' as not to disturb us.

In 7 years, and many trips, our guide has never, ever called us. Not even once. Until I read it on here, I didn't know that was a courtesy they do.

No she hasn't,possibly because wqe bought a resale and not directly from disney?

Same with us, except it's been over 10 years!

Well, aren't we a little balloon popper today!! And here I thought my guide was trying to forge a nice relationship with me...thought we were maybe close to going out to dinner or something. Guess not. :lmao:
In any case, our guide has called a few times...left a message. Nothing more. Wish I could give her more business but not in this economy.

Hee! Do each others' hair, have sleepovers...
:rotfl:

Our guide, Bernard, does call us during our trip. He usually leaves us a message welcoming us home. While it's not necessary it is a nice touch :thumbsup2

Julie has called us most of the time...and if we don't hear from her, we will call her and arrange a stop by visit; sometimes to add points, sometimes to show off a new child, sometimes just to see if we can get a free pin ;)

Ours is more no than yes, but we have had a couple of messages left on our phone at the resort wishing us a good trip.
