Do you wipe your dog's butt after it goes to the bathroom?

Okay, this is inspired by aprilgail (who is pro-wipingbutt) who I truly hope will not be offended but I just have to know how odd I really am for NOT doing this. So I want to know how many of you wipe your dogs butt.

I'm not talking about when they obviously have a little clingy bugger hanging either. I mean on a regular basis.

PS - The "not wiping myself" is a joke because it was compared to that on the other thread.

I don't wipe my Dogs butt. But I do wipe his legs and around his private area with baby wipes after he pees. He is a 120lb Great Dane male who has never hiked his leg to pee. He squats and it splashes on him sometimes. If I don't wipe him with baby wipes he gets sores around his area.

Okay, I'm LOL because we do have too sometimes. Our 2yo Bichon sometimes gets poop stuck to his butt. He is always just freaked out, sits and crys until we notice and help him out. Don't know why he's like this, just something he's always done. When they groom Bichon's they shave around that area to prevent this but sometimes as his hair gets longer it does happen.

No, we don't wipe her butt... got too many other little human butts to wipe to think about the dogs... but my mom used to put a diaper on our cocker spaniel when it was in the house... they are known to "piddle" when excited. She would cut a hole out for its tail and everything. I imagine they make these nowadays, but not back then.

I answered yes for my dear dear FIL! He follows that dumb dog around wiping his rear. He always pulls a tissue out of his pocket to do it. The really gross thing is that he pulls out a tissue from his pocket to give to DD when she falls and I always think, I hope he didn't wipe the dogs butt with that!
