Do you wear tennis shoes with jeans??

Yes, I wear tennis shoes with jeans. But I'm no fashionista.

Are loafers the shoes with the penny in them?? I'm serious!! I really don't know!!
Something like this...

The only reason I don't wear tennis shoes with jeans is that I hardly ever wear tennies at all. Only for exercising. With jeans I wear flip-flops, some other kind of sandal, crocs, or if it's winter, maybe some boots. Once in a blue moon I'll wear heels with jeans if I'm in that kind of mood.

About 4 or 5 years ago I decided that any kind of shoe that I need to use my hands to put on is just too much work. :rotfl2: 95% of my shoes I can just step into - I'm getting just that lazy in my old age! :thumbsup2

I consider denim, casual. Whether the jeans cost $20 or $500, they are casual. I rarely wear athletic shoes with jeans, but they are more appropriate than the dress heals I see a lot of women wearing with jeans.

Chunky platforms or other casual heels/boots are ok, but I've always considered this look ...
to be the skanky one.

I only wear white athletic shoes when I'm doing something athletic. Walking the dog, walking on the treadmill, biking, and my personal favorite walking in Disney :cool1:

I have casual jeans and dressier jeans. The dressier ones are a longer length and I have to wear heels with them or risk tearing them up. I like how heels with boot cut jeans make my legs look longer and I "feel" slimmer in them.

But when I go casual with my jeans I have tennis shoes that are different colors. Like Kangaroos or Rocket Dog. In the winter, I have a couple of Land's End all weather mocs that I wear with jeans. Very comfortable and casual. Flip flops and other sandals in the summer. But never white tennies!!! It's a very 80's look to me. All that would be missing is the tapered jeans.

I don't wear tennis shoes unless I am engaging in some sort of exercise activity like bike riding, working out, or walking.

My DH wears jeans all the time with casual shoes. He's not much of a tennis shoe wearer either.

I don't know how other people feel personally, but it seems dressed down to me. It's really just how I feel. I wouldn't make fun of someone who was wearing tennis shoes...I just wouldn't do it myself.

I don't really wear sweatpants either...at least when I'm leaving the house.

It's probably a Southern thing.

Rarely. Like Rafiki3 I don't usually wear tennis shoes unless I'm working out or something similar.

I will occasionally were slip on athletic style shoes with jeans but not something like chunky Nikes. I agree that I don't like the way jeans look with traditional style tennis shoes.

I do own sweat-pants (yoga pants to be completely accurate not old-school sweats) for the gym but I'm not wearing them anywhere else unless it is a Juicy Couture set.

With jeans I wear a variety of footwear, ballet flats, wedges, heals, boots, sandals, casual shoes...

If going out to dinner or out with friends my DH wears casual 'dress' shoes with jeans. Mostly slip-ons like Merrell Mocs or Clarks.

ITA... casual heeled boots or heeled sandals, platforms look good with jeans, but dressy shoes looky tacky IMHO

I wear sneakers and jeans most of the time when the weather is cool. Shorts and casual sandals when it is warm. I put function/comfort over fashion. Seems I'm always chasing a kid or dog.

Yep, that's nasty. But its more the jeans than the shoes. They are too short and look tapered. And what is that, white knee highs??? Yuk.

Edited to add: I wouldn't go so far to say tennis shoes with jeans is skanky. Just dated. imo

It depends on the shirt. If I wear a fleece or sweatshirt, it's tennis shoes all the way.

If I'm wearing a blouse or a nice sweater, I'll wear a dressier shoe or boots.

Now this makes sense. After all, who is going to wear a sweatshirt, jeans, and heels? Or maybe it's also skanky to wear sweatshirts?? :confused3

Your co-worker needs to get a life! Wear whatever you want honey!

:thumbsup2 I find the white tennies and jeans look to be more for men. It seems too masculine for me. Unless it's at WDW - then ANYTHING that keeps ones feet comfortable is a go.

I never wear jeans, so it's not an issue. ;)

I think heels with jeans look trashy. Most people I know wear sneakers with jeans. I don't ever wear white ones though, I don't care for white sneakers.

I'm not a big fan of tennis shoes w/ jeans but I wouldn't call it skanky :confused3

Back in my going out to bars days I wore heels with jeans all the time. Pumps, strappy, anything as long as there were heels.

NOW, I'm into comfort. Most days I wear my loafers, but if it is major walking around time then the sneakers get put on. And when it's warm I wear sandals or flip flops.

I wear anything with jeans, flip flops, sneakers, keds, boots, vans etc. Now that I think of it, I believe I have only worn opened toed heels with jeans.

OK, being the fashion guru that I am (NOT), of course I wear tennis shoes with sneakers. But I also wear dress shoes, crocs, flip flops or boots with them as well, all depending on the shirt I am wearing and the look I am going for! Never been called skanky for it though!!!!
