Do you wear tennis shoes with jeans??

I combine all my shoes with jeans. And my shoes vary from the $2 flip flops until the $$$$$ high heels. And everything in between.

I agree. That's the whole point of jeans. You can wear them with anything.

OP here! I have another co-worker that doesn't even own a pair of tennis shoes. So I'm picturing her in sweatpants and heels!!
Well she probably doesn't own sweatpants then. :rotfl:

I very seldom wear tennis shoes with jeans. The only time recently was to my son's baseball game when it was too chilly to wear sandals and too dirty to wear my nice boots/loafers. While I wouldn't call it "skanky" (that really doesn't make any sense), I don't think it's a very good look for work. Of course, I don't work so I don't get many opportunities to dress up in cute heels. And yes, I do wear heels with jeans.

I guess as long as you're not wearing your jeans with heels and those little socks with the lace on the cuff, it's all good.:lmao:

TLM

I am with most everyone else here. A little bit of everything, depending on the weather, what I am doing, my mood, where I am going and what else I am wearing.

I do have a few pairs of jeans and I tend to wear a heal with them (not spikes though, I rarely wear those.) I have some healed boots or clogs that I wear. All weather mocs from lands end in the winter when it is wet out.

I normally only wear tennis shoes at the gym or working out now a days though. I do have a cute pair of skechers I will wear with almost anything.

I have gotten into shoes recently. Going shopping this afternoon............;) :cool1:

It seems the answer depends on the workplace--if you work in a no customer contact position, then wear whatever is comfortable for you--if it's sneakers--that's fine. However, if you have customer contact AND have any type of aspirations to a higher position, you may need to upgrade your footwear to something comfortable--but a little "dressier"---think well made, comfortable flats with good arch support. Also, remember "jeans" doesn't equal "sloppy".:surfweb:

:)
Me too!!

BTW Everybody where I work wears jeans, sneakers and tees (even the big bosses). The only ones who are dressed up are the lawyers.

Me three!

Except for the summer I only wear sneakers with jeans.

In fact after the transit strike of 1980 in NYC, people wear sneakers to work regardless of what they are wearing.

I don't wear tennis shoes unless I am engaging in some sort of exercise activity like bike riding, working out, or walking.

My DH wears jeans all the time with casual shoes. He's not much of a tennis shoe wearer either.

I don't know how other people feel personally, but it seems dressed down to me. It's really just how I feel. I wouldn't make fun of someone who was wearing tennis shoes...I just wouldn't do it myself.

OP here! I have another co-worker that doesn't even own a pair of tennis shoes. So I'm picturing her in sweatpants and heels!! She (and her daughter) would be the type who would do disney in stilletos!

I don't really wear sweatpants either...at least when I'm leaving the house.

It's probably a Southern thing.

I almost always wear heels with jeans but the main reason is just that I'm so short. Almost all jeans are almost always too long on me and because I'm too lazy to have them hemmed, I just go with casual style heels of one kind or another... sandals, etc. :)

I don't wear my athletic shoes with jeans, but I will wear Converse All-Stars with jeans. They're a lot more attractive and fashionable than my white New Balances that I wear to the gym, or to play sports.

Otherwise, I'll wear heels, cute flats or flip flops with my jeans.

No..

I wear loafers mostly, and now it is summer:woohoo: , and I wear flip flops with jeans, sandals. In the winter I wear a nice boot with jeans...

You don't see it often here, runners with jeans..

I wear everything with jeans, including sneakers! I tend to stick to the slip on sneakers though, but I do have a couple of lace up pair that I wear from time to time.

The reason I am asking this question is because we are now able
to wear jeans to work and my "fashionable" coworker made the comment that she does not wear tennis shoes with jeans. She said she didn't like the way it looked. Actually there is a nearby town that has the reputation for being kinda dirty and skanky and she said that wearing tennis shoes with jeans made it look like you were from there!

Until I saw ladies in fashion magazines wearing heels with jeans I had no idea that there was anything other than tennis shoes to wear with jeans. :thumbsup2

She also said that her husband wears tennis shoes with jeans and I thought to myself........"what kind of shoes do you expect him to wear with them?" I mean he's a guy.......not like he can wear heels!!

Anyway, I guess I'm skanky because I don't "dress up" my jeans!! Anyone
else??? :rotfl:

Depends on the jeans, what top I'm wearing with them, and the weather. But for work, no, I wouldn't wear sneakers. Unless you work in a warehouse or garage.

While I did mention work in my original post, my question is just tennis shoes with jeans period. Because my co-workers point was not wearing them together EVER.

Sometimes I think I'm weird because I just want to be comfortable.
And while I don't want to stick out as being totally unfashionable, I don't keep up on the latest trends or wear something that is painful (as most heels
are to me).

Are loafers the shoes with the penny in them?? I'm serious!! I really don't know!!
