your cell phone ? I do all the time and its a life saver. 90% of the extra stuff on a cell I havent got a clue how to use it, but always make sure I figure the alarm out

It's the only one I use too.

It is the only one we have used since Labor Day. We had an electrical fire that started with only an alarm clock plugged in. Since then, nothing is plugged in when we aren't conscious or home.

It's the only one I use as well. We tend to have a lot of power outages in our area and my phone is more reliable than a standard alarm clock.
Plus I have it programmed for 3 different alarms (one for school days, one for my weekend work hours and then a third that I set as needed, I love that!). :thumbsup2

It is the main reason I got a new phone. Alarm clock and calendar reminders.

I wish I could set two reminders for the same event. Like one a day before and then another an hour before.

Does anyone have a suggestion of software like that for a palm treo?

Mikeeee

I'm not a morning person and I need to wake up gradually. I set both alarms on my regular alarm clock and I also use the alarm on my cell. I set all three for different times. I've been known to shut off the alarm (in my sleep) instead of pressing the snooze button so this takes care of that problem.

I refuse to be bonded by the chains of time :snooty:

Only when I travel. But I love it for that! Don't have to try to figure out strange hotel clocks (and screw it up and have it go off at 5PM instead of 5AM) and when I'm staying with friends and family, they don't always have one in their spare room, so it saves me from having to trouble them for one.

Yes! It's great for travel. I hate worrying all night that the hotel alarm won't go off. Or worse yet, depending on someone for a wake-up call. I keep waking up and looking at the clock to make sure I don't oversleep. (I never have in a hotel) :sad2:

I set my phone alarm and sleep soundly all night!

Every morning. I get up between 7:00 and 8:00 for classes every morning and I don't trust my iHome as I overslept for work once last semester because it didn't go off! But also because I'd be afraid that if my iHome went off at 7:00 a.m. it would be so loud that it would wake up other people that live on my floor (don't have to worry about a roommate, though - she moved out at the beginning of the spring semester!).

I use a regular alarm clock at home. I set it but always wake up 1-2 minutes before it goes off.

However, when travelling I ALWAYS use my cell phone now. After several incidents at hotels where the clock did not work/did not receive wake-up call and that really caused some close calls (almost missing appointments/flights).

Trusty ole cell phone!:thumbsup2

I almost never use an alarm clock. I wake up when I wake up. In fact, no one in our house uses one.

Nothing in your entire house is plugged in?

We don't keep anything plugged in at our house. Well, I guess their's the oven, the toaster oven, the washer, the drier, the TV's, the DVRs, the computers, the game systems, the chargers (phones, batteries, game systems, cameras, etc), the refrigerator/freezers, the lights, the ceiling fans, the AC/heater system, pool equipment, the clocks, the microwave, the night lights, and a few other odds and ends. But other than that, we don't keep anything plugged in either.

Well we have an entire apartment, but our fridge, stove and microwave are the only things that stay plugged in. I know it seems a little nuts, but this place has old aluminum wiring and until we can find a house, this is how I feel safest here.
