I voted that I unpack, as that's my preference, but it varies:

1 or 2 nights: usually don't bother to unpack
3 or more nights: unpack

I also use packing cubes for stuff that goes in drawers, which makes it fast and easy to pack/repack. If doing a split stay (common), I use packing envelopes for hanging stuff, and then don't unpack the envelopes meant for future hotel stays.

I always totally unpack - I am a nester.. Whether at Disney or anywhere. I like to settle in

We usually stay 8-10 days, so we like to totally unpack once the luggage arrives from DME. I've never found a drawer to be dirty, although I have found other peoples items, like charging cords or play stations. We almost always stay in 1 or 2BR villas, so we do laundry almost every day and it's nice to fold it and put it away. We just nest the suitcases and store them behind a chair or in a corner of a hall. If we do have a stay of 3 days or fewer, we probably would just live out of the suitcase. In fact, we have a 4 night stay at CBR in December, and will likely keep everything in the suitcase.

We mostly unpack, there are some odds & ends that remain in the suitcase. We also have an Owner's Locker and we get most of the stuff out of there. :earsboy:

Always unpack as soon as I get in the room. Hang up most stuff and spray it with wrinkle release. Shoes on the closet floor. Underwear, pjs, etc, in drawers. Can't stand living out of a suitcase. Same way in the cruise. I don't feel comfortable until everything is put away.

After reading all these replies, bring me to another question. Does the closet have a lot of hangers? Even though I hang shirts at home, I always put them into a drawer at dsiney. I never thought to hang them and save drawer space for other things.

There are a few hangers. I usually bring some hangers from home for my clothes, like the ones from a dry-cleaner. Sometimes I leave them, sometimes I bring them home. It depends on how many we have at home. Everyone in my family has a different style. I put my things into drawers. We have 3 people, and I usually split the drawers so everyone has an equal share. The guys don't want to hang their clothes, so, I hang most of mine. My husband usually lives out of the suitcase, and my son just throws clothes all over, whether at home or away. This is why the 1 BR at Kidani is so nice. He gets his own bathroom, and I don't even walk in there the entire week.

On short 2-3 day beginning and end of split stay we are all out our a duffle bags (do not even get into our main suitcases). Of course we are low maintenance. On our longer middle stays we unpack our main bags

We use the closet for hanging and storing our clothes. I, too, avoid dresser drawers because they often house candy and chocolate surprises.

I love to be all settled in and comfortable, so I definitely unpack. I use packing cubes for all my clothes so I just grab them out of the suitcase, unzip, tuck the top under and throw in the drawer. Easy, peasy. :cutie:

I can't stand to search for stuff I know I packed, so I always unpack everything - clothes, toiletries and food for kitchen. But DH, DS (almost 13) and DD (almost 10) hate being unpacked. We also argue over how much to bring. We always have a 1bd DVC, so I prefer to do laundry so what we take home isn't gross, and then we can pack less. DH packs like a 5 day trip is really for 10 days. Sigh.

I not only unpack, but I take about 1/2 hour upon arrival to do the following 3 things; fill up the jetted tub and bleach it, set up ironing board and freshen up clothes as they get hung in the closet and then put all other clothes in the drawers and toiletries in the bathroom. It's 1/2 hour that makes my entire stay a happy one.

Always unpack right away. Never feel like we're home until we do. Keeps the room nice and clean as well.

Never really saw the appeal of unpacking, although to be fair, when we first got married and started to grow our family, vacations were few and far between and those that we did take were camping or in lower end accommodations (Motel 6, Super 8 etc.) since we didn't have the budget for more. Hotel stays were very basic and although the budget chains were relatively clean and safe, we never felt comfortable unpacking.
Nowadays the kids have moved out and we have more disposable income so we have moved up to the 3+ star level of accommodation but we still can't bring ourselves to unpack (maybe a throwback to the budget hotel days)
I should note that we have started to relax on this a little, any dress clothing for "evenings out" or special diner reservations will get hung in the closet when we arrive to let the wrinkles fall out. As will, jackets, hoodies and extra shoes also go in the closet. Just haven't been able to bring ourselves to use the drawers in the dressers.

I guess I would say I fall in between because it depends on the trip and length.

Short stays we live out of suitcase. My DH and kids NEVER unpack and live out of exploded-hot-mess suitcases. If it's a longer stay (more than 3 nights), I will unpack DH and I. Kids never unpack. One DD puts dirty stuff in drawer, other DD leaves it lying on floor and DS mixes it all in 1 big mess.
