Do you tip your mailman/garbageman/paper deliverer?

The mailman, garbage men, newspaper delivery, dog groomer, and pretty much anyone else my granddad sees during the holidays get $20 gift cards and a bag of cookies. :D

So would you tip your doctor, a nurse, a teacher?

Well people usta take turns in small town feeding the doctor and his family would that be considered a tip?

I give the care givers and nurse in the group home my son lives at each a gift card is that a tip?

My dd teachers all 6 of them got gift card, letter/ card from dd and gingerbread house is that a tip?

And I gave my family doc bottle of wine, but I know him personally so that's more of a gift then a gift.

Feeding a doctor?

All your examples are gifts not tips.

Heck no to all 3:

The regular garbage pick up are city employees who don't make minimum wage much less have to get out of the truck to pick up the garbage, they have that arm thing and sometimes, they don't know how to use the arm and topple over the trash cans or pull them to the next neighbor's house.

Mail carrier: For a long time, we had several different ones after our regular set the clock by his delivery retired. And a couple of them didn't like to walk up the driveway to my house-which is short - walk up 2 steps to the house and pick up the mail I needed to go out.

Paper carrier: They do a good job, double wrap the paper when it rains, which is great because they like to put the paper at the end of the driveway where the run off of the street is. But still not going to tip.

Your town doctor doesn't earn enough to feed his family? I have no desire to have supper with the person who does my pap test thank you very much. :rotfl2:

We have a marginally pyscho mail delivery person, so she never gets a penny -- even though she puts the "time and energy" into printing up little postcards each December to kindly remind us that she only delivers the mail Monday thru Friday in case we choose to remember her during the holidays. Uhh....no thanks. :crazy2:

We tip the newspaper delivery couple because they're sweet and reliable. Usually $20 and some homemade cookies. They only deliver on Sundays for us.

The garbageman, if I can catch him, we give him a gift card to our local gas station/convenience store. He's a nice guy too and super nice to my kids. :goodvibes

I never see the garbage men but I sometimes find my garbage cans in the middle of my driveway blocking the entrance and I live on a main street. Nope, not deserving of my hard earned money!

I always gave a Christmas gift to the letter carrier until last year. We have a new carrier and she's horrible! Atleast weekly, she delivers someone else's mail to my house :/

I don't get the newspaper delivered but if I did then I would give an extra tip during the holidays. I had a paper route when I was a teen and I loved Christmas time -- people always gave great tips and/or gave cookies :)
