Do you think WDW will ever reopen River Country water park?

I've seen videos of it on YouTube. It looks like right out of an episode of Life After People. I know WDW is hurting financially due to Covid19, but it will be over some day and life will be back to normal, hopefully. Maybe they can retheme it. Has Disney ever talked about what they're going to do with that land?

What these guys posted below.

Sorry, no not ever. The remaining bits from River Country have been bulldozed. and the area was replanned for a new DVC Resort that had already started construction. But due to the Covid-19 it is on hold.

Um, I think they demolished it to make way for a new resprt...

Their building a new resort on it...

There are two new Disney Water parks and they are world class! Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. I do miss RC though. Lots of childhood memories there.
Too bad those are closed for COVID. My 1st grader was really looking forward to BB.

The Lakeside Reflections Lodge was tabled indefinitely, but nonetheless I agree with others that River Country will never reopen. I remember going there as a kid in the 90s.

Oh I know. I went to both during my first trip to WDW back in June 2017.

Not happening ever. New resort planned but on hold now. River Country May have been fine at the time but crowds are so much bigger now that no way it could handle them. Other water parks are world class.

This is what River Country looks like now for the time being. They have put out some grass seed and moved big equipment off the property.

At least River Country finally got a proper burial after being left to rot for all these decades.

Great picture...haven't seen it since March...wonder when they will restart new DVC

I remember when they closed RC. Disney said at the time it was because of the bacteria in the water but I always felt it was because of alligators.

Thanks everyone for your responses even though it's not what I wanted to hear, lol.

I think adding a small scale site like river country was would add significant value to the MK resort area, but I am doubtful it will happen because it would be hard to monetize

If you want to see a piece of it, the main pool at Fort wilderness houses the old water tower, repurposed into the slide. I was at RC years ago. It was a nice little waterpark. My kids loved it. Sad to see it in disrepair, and now, gone.

When I first heard of the Reflections Resort location, I was hoping that maybe River Country would be incorporated somehow. I think giving the pool for that resort a scaled down River Country theme would be really cool and a nice way to acknowledge a piece of Disney World’s past.
