Just wondering, Do you think it matters if you check in Saturday vs Sunday? Mid-week vs weekend, or early vs late, Does this have any regard concerning your room requests or is it just luck and a nice CM? We are staying at the CR tower in Sept. and I'm already stressing about getting a MK view. :)

Technically, the earlier you arrive on the day of check in the better chance you should have....although over the past 12 years we have stayed at the CR 9 or 10 times and have always gotten a MK view...so I think if that request is on your initial reservation they try hard to accomodate you. Actually if you go during convention season you will probably be fine since very few conventioneers make view requests and they comprise a significant percentage of tower guests.

I asked this very question to the CM at CRO when I made the reservations for our next trip and was told the time of checkin makes no difference - who knows though? We're coming in after midnight and here's hoping! This is our first cash reservation - not points - so I wasn't sure.

I do believe the opposite is true with the DVC resorts, but I could be wrong. I believe the strategy with DVC is to check in early to get the most requests granted. That's generally worked for us anyway. :flower:

Hi, we have stayed at the CR in the tower or tower club probably close to 25 times in the past 10 yrs. I have always requested MK view and all but one time had it at check in. The one time we didn't, they just moved us to MK view the next day. We have gone all different times of the year and checked in Sat/Sun and Wed usually.

If you requested MK view with your reservation, I wouldn't stress too much over it. I know they try and accomodate guests preferences. Many people don't even know to request it, actually.

I believe September is a slower time for WDW and that is also in your favor.

You will enjoy the CR - it is my kids' favorite WDW resort - they like it better than Poly, GF, YC/BC.

Happy planning!

We've checked in at all different times and on different days. I can't really see any pattern related to these and are upgrades/views.

I am a Travel Agent and yes there is a science to all of this madness. The earlier you check in the better your chances are of getting your room request. Here's why........rooms are assigned generally 72 hours in advance they TRY to granted everyone's requests but normally that is not possible. If you check in at 7am and they have already assigned you to a bay view and you requested a MK view, the front desk CM has the "power" to swap your room out with someone that is already assigned to a MK view(sounds awful I know). If you check in at 9pm and you got a bay view, when you requested a MK view there are generally not as many open rooms left to swap out with. They is normally how all hotels/resorts work so keep that in mind on your next vacation. As for upgrades....ask to speak to the front desk manager. If there are open suite available you may get lucky! The best days of the week to get the rooms you requested are Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays. Hope this helps :wave2:

We are checking into the Poly tomorrow early, around noon, and it would be nice to get the Tokelau building as requested. I won't be disappointed if we don't though. First time at the Poly and I am sure I will love whatever we get.

We will be going to the AKL on 7/30 from the Vistana, so we could bop over and check in pretty much anytime we want. If you were to pick an optimum time, what would you pick? 9 am? 10 am? 8 am?
