We haven't been to Disney since 2008. We really miss Disney World!
This time we'll be going Oct 28- Nov 2 and April 1-8 with 5 kids.

Condo in Windsor Hills: 1,517 (includes $500 security deposit)
Gas: $600?
Food: $1,200
Spending money: $500
Tickets (undercover tourist/mousesavers) 10 day no exp: $2560.51
= $6,877.51


**Updated for discounts /savings that you all told me about**:

Food: $600? I've decided to take a cooler and maybe even some frozen meals for crockpot.

Tickets (YES & Undercover tourist): $1972.20 ( total of 11 day tickets!)
= $5,013!! That makes it $2,506.50 per trip. Nice!

including 2 adults

I do swagbucks, mypoints, save change, and am thinking of making most lunches and/or dinner. Trying to think of what else I can do to get the price down some more.

Have you looked into the Y.E.S. tickets for your school-age kids? I know a lot of people do those and get great discounts. And have you run your trip through gasbuddy.com? That could help you figure out your gas budget better. It might even be lower than you think.

I don't get what YES is. How do I even see what the prices would be? I haven't look at AP prices yet. I just figured that would only be worth it if i was staying onsite for more discounts.

You could stay in a home outside of Windsor Hills for far cheaper. WH is one of the more expensive communities because its one of the newest. Check VRBO.com for private homes and condo's that do not require a security deposit. There are LOTS.

You can look into deals on Disney gift cards at your grocery store. You can then use these for souvenier money. You can ask for Disney gift cards for Christmas. Look into the Chase Disney Visa so you can reap the rewards!

She did give us a discount. We are staying in a condo for 10-12 people for $75 a day. Not bad and we really like Windsor Hills. Plus I already sent the deposit..

The adults in your party can purchase these as well. The catch is that they are not refundable and not valid outside the dates you originally ask for.

I just checked out gasbuddy and it would cost $212 round trip x2= $424 and I suppose I could just take a cooler with food to eat on the way.

Yes, though an adult may be required to stay at the program depending on how old the participating child is.

OKay well the annual passholder is $3,347.31. My daughter isn't 3 yet but that would mean I'd have to buy her a ticket if we go after her birthday (july 26). So I'm not sure if I want to spend about $1,000 extra even thugh I'm sure we'd probably wouldn't mind going again in the summer 2012.
As for Disney YES they only have one date and its the same day we're coming and for sure we'd miss it . Unless it would be worth it to stay in a cheap hotel somewhere..probably not. I did not look at April yet.

I would recommend at least one adult buy an Annual Pass. Adult Annual passes are eligible for free parking and at $14/day, that will add up quickly. You would also be eligible for 10% off any purchase at a quite a few of the stores.

APs for all would be 2,676.36 at gate prices after tax. You could get tickets from UT (whichever save the most money over gate prices that aren't worth more than the cost of an Annual Pass) and use them once, then upgrade to Annual Passes (upgrade within 14 days of first use). Another advantage of Annual Passes is that they are park hopper passes and you would be able to go to the parks every day of your trip if you wanted to instead of being limited to a total of 10 days.

Where did you find this price for AP's? I went to disney website and put in 3 adults and 2 kids and it came up with $3347. I figured out DIsney yes and for Oct's tickets it would cost $714.75 for 4 days. It won't let me see 2012 prices/programs yet. But that's a good price and if its close to 2011's price then it would cost me around $1,525! That's about $1,000 off!

Why no expiration?

I'm going in Oct and April for a total of 12 night and so I could purchase a 4 day and a 6 day but it would be cheaper to purchase the 10 day no exp. BUt the Disney Yes is look good so I'll probably go with that.

OKay nevermind about the ap's ...I went back to look and saw that I had put premium instead of regular. So now I have to decide to go with Disney YES or AP's. I don't know if they'll be offering YES in April.

I don't know if they will release YES programs for your second week. For the first one, I do believe it would be worth it to get your tickets through YES and stay somewhere cheap offsite for a night.

We got four 8 day park hoppers plus water parks and more for less than $900. You don't have to do the add ons.. so that would save you 25 per ticket right there. A 5 day base ticket is going to cost you 760 for the 5 of you that require tickets. I think even if they don't release YES tickets for April you would still come out ahead by using YES now and Undercover Tourist in April.
Priceline for a few cheap offsite rooms the night before.

I also think if you plan on cooking in the condo and packing lunches your food budget is high. I mean really, you coud get by on your home grocery budget, pack picnic lunches and do some offsite pizza places for a treat. That should free up a few hundred of your food budget at least. If you don't want to cook, freeze some meals to throw in a crockpot and have ready when you come in from the parks.

Just a few small suggestions, but it certainly can be done
