Not even a little. Why not just accept that Disney is inexpensive as compared to the alternatives I've scoped out?

It wasn't funny, so your amusement is misplaced.

I think you are proof that a high post count does not equate to any sort of knowledge. You have literally argues every single point anyone has made.

No, only those comments that I disagree with.

I've actually comparison-shopped for our January 2012 vacation. WDW is coming in less expensive than the alternatives. It just is.

YES! WDW is less expensive than the alternatives you looked at.

That does not equal: WDW is an inexpensive vacation.

The willingness to argue has nothing to do with whether someone has knowledge. Your post is as rude as anything that has been posted in this thread.

Don't worry; I've got a thick skin. :)

Let's not dwell on it; let's move on, please.

You know, Disney can be as expensive as you wish but it cannot be as cheap as you wish. Tickets alone are pretty expensive. Yes, you get a lot, but you spend a lot. To keep my Disney vacation in budget I have to cut on hoppers and water parks. Saving me $300 on a trip. I used to buy those options every trip even so we used each option once. Now I have to think where I spend my money. Pretty sure I am not the only one cutting options and days and since the whole vacation history is in their system, they are aware of situation. Yes people still go but cut corners.

No, not reality. I've simply done the comparison shopping recently, so I know how inexpensive a WDW vacation is, as compared to the other destinations we've considered.

Try coming to Cape Cod for a week and you will appreciate A WDW vacation even more.

In the town where I live, a modest cottage (3br ranch or small Cape) is $1500.00 to $2000.00 per week. I'm being pretty conservative here. This includes nothing other than a place to stay. Granted people come here for the ocean and for seafood but all that is extra. Parking your car at the beach is $15.00 per day. Most local restaurants have prices close to or the the same as you would pay for at a decent Disney restaurant and more often than not the service is lousy.

Complain all you want about how expensive Disney is but take a look around and you'll be surprised how expensive every where else is too.

Cape Cod is a good example. St. John USVI is another (and our favorite vacation destination). Key West is pretty expensive, especially once you budget in dining. Also try pricing out a balcony on an Alaska cruise.

What alternatives?

You comparing Apples to Oranges. You can compare only same category vacations, in Disney case, amusement parks deals.

Or try pricing it for 9! Yavapai Lodge was $325 a night for our crew! And I won't even think about our Sailboat cruise in the Virgin Islands! Our condo in LBV is going to be $400 a week!

Can you really do that, though? Because there aren't any apples to apples amusement parks, if you know what i mean. Universal only has 2 parks, and places like Cedar Point don't work for a weeks worth of entertainment.

Donut, if you choose the deluxe rooms you can't whine about the cost, because there are so many other options. At least that is my opinon. You can find $300 rooms in any city in america, if you look hard enough.

No I'm comparing apples to apples. Your choice to see them as different doesn't apply to my family's vacation preferences.

Just because it applies to category "you vacations" does not mean it is in a same category. A person who draws complex business schemes should know the difference. I can compare Paris vacation to Boston vacation, are they same? Both in my family vacation category. You can compare Disney to Universal but never to cruise or beach vacation, if you want to state a professional opinion.

Good point. Even with one of my examples: In St. John USVI, you can get something really low-end for about the cost of a WDW budget resort room, while an actual hotel room is going to cost more than a WDW deluxe resort room.

Yes, surely it can, and is. The accommodations are comparable. They're apples and apples. And WDW is inexpensive by comparison.

You can compare Disney to Universal but never to cruise or beach vacation, if you want to state a professional opinion.
That's ridiculously self-fulfilling. As it is, you can't compare WDW to Universal because WDW simply offers more than Universal does, starting with four gates. WDW is much more comparable to St. John USVI, with all its various activities, than Universal.

I know you want to project that Disney is expensive. How about this? I'll project what I believe, and you can project what you believe. I think that's going to work out best. Thanks.

It is though. The accommodations are comparable. They're apples and apples. And WDW is inexpensive by comparison.

If you are talking about accommodations then you comparing hotels categories which are standart for different locations and prices which vary from location to location. Comparing hotels is different from comparing vacations. So again, apples to oranges.
