Do You think DISNEY has gone down hlll the last few years?

First of all my advice is, and this is coming from someone who can only make it to Disney every couple of years, and that is if my professional performing and dancing touring schedules permit. Is first of all realize you are one of the fortunate few who have been able to take a Disney vacation let alone be able to go somewhere, there are a lot of people who can not afford to go anywhere. Second, while you expect Disney to be picture perfect all the time its not always going to be particularly like now when the economy isn't doing so well. Third, rather stop complaining about things so people who haven't even gone and are making their first ever trip to Disney can enjoy their trip to the fullest, stop going all together if you think things have gotten that bad, or just simply take a break from going to Disney for a year or two.
It's true that many can't afford to go or at least can't go as often. That is a good point.

I will however continue to discuss WDW just as I always have. I enjoy talking about the place both good and bad.

i love MIB, although it makes my husband sick!:rotfl:Bummer about having to pay, though.

i like universal a lot. I like disney for more time. Neither are perfect, imo. But I am so happy they exist!
Me too! I feel so lucky having two great resorts to visit. :)

Thanks for sharing. Like it! :thumbsup2

As you have already guessed, I don't like comparisons either - they are both different parks, although Disney is lacking in some areas, it really is a heck of a lot of fun!!!

We experienced the same thing, the last time we went. Our wait times were even longer for attractions and restaurants. We much prefer WDW as well.

I think it's important that we discuss issues though. Those of us who are regulars and who have been for years, really do love Disney, and have great ideas about how they can improve in some areas. When you've done it many times, sometimes you really do have great tips and suggestions about how to better the place that you love so much.:thumbsup2

ITA!!!!

On an unrelated note - just found out that my baby boy has to have emergency surgery on Monday morning. This will be his 4th surgery in 1.5 years, and so at only 3 years old, he's been through a lot with his health.

If you could spare some pixie dust for a quick recovery, and no complications, it would be so appreciated!
Thanks, Tiger :)

Hi Tiger!

Oh my gosh I had no idea. Your son and family will be in my prayers. Godspeed to your little one.

My advice for those who dislike things is to please stop going. If all you want to do is cry that the food is bad, you do not get as much as you did etc. Voice your protest by not going. It will really clear things up for me. Maybe I can get an ADR adn not have to listen to an jerk, whine abotu no reservations and that they have to wait. cry about not getting enough food with their free dining plan. Please save us all the pain and just stop going. You will make it much more enjoyable for the rest of us.

Wow, this has got to be the worst advice I read so far. It's obvious she read none of these posts, a lot of which are very positive. I respectfully, disagree with your assessment here newms12, but we are all allowed to talk about the good the bad and the ugly at Disney. As a whole Disney is a GREAT Place, heck we go 7 times a year! But as with most corporations a lot issues need to be addressed. So we are discussing them here. thanks! brunette

Thanks for all of the well wishes, pixie dusts and PMs for my sweet baby boy.

I really appreciate it! Such a bunch of kindhearted and compassionate people, Tiger :)

Thanks so very much for all of the well wishes! I was trying to get a bit updated on DIS messages as I've had a long day.

Our boy has ear tubes, which have made him a much healthier boy (he was seriously ill the first 2 years of life), but we noticed that his one tube didn't look right (we check daily with a scope), and surgeon is very worried. He can't see his eardrum, and our boy has been complaining that he can't hear the past few days. He has to go in for surgery in order to take the tube out, and make sure all is ok. Trying to avoid a serious infection or deafness, so surgery is imperative.

Wanted to do it tomorrow morn, but I couldn't secure a supply teacher that fast. We just returned from church group, so it's been a long day - still waiting for hubby to get home from office, as he went in late today as they were at the surgeon's.

Thanks so much for all prayers and kind thoughts. Disney is our happy place, so I'm trying to sneak a bit of DIS time, in between making some lists about what we need to do for surgery on Monday.

Thanks so much, Tiger :)

Sorry to hearr about your boy tiger.I wish him all the best!!!Hope he has a speedy recovery!

Are you kidding me?:confused3

However, the wait for those rides were between 5 to 30 mins. Simpsons was 45 minutes, but if I paid an additional $50 I could get front line access for those rides so I don't have to wait. Disney doesn't charge me for that and I can use FastPass as many times as I want without a charge. Plus I don't have to pay for a locker EVERY single time I want to go on a ride.

Front of the Line Access is free if you stay onsite and you do not have to run around the parks grabbing fast passes! Just walk up to the FOTL entrance and with barely a blink, you're on the ride!!!!Oh and you can use the FOTL as many times as you want if you stay onsite. My daughter and her friends ride their favorites over and over.
Contrary to what you've posted, you can only use a fast pass one time before you have to get another one , and then get another one and so on.
Also, if you had gone to the gift shop at the MIB ride and told them about the locker, they would have refunded your money.

My advice for those who do not reading the bad and the good is to read elsewhere. Voice your protest by not opening these threads!

I have not read where anyone on this thread has complained about not having a reservation and having to wait. You won't catch me complaining about the free dining because I plan my trips to avoid it:thumbsup2
BTW, some of us here have been here for quite a long time and we all enjoy ourselves pretty well, thanks.
You'll learn after being here awhile that even though we may have a complaint we love Disney. Do you never get annoyed by your children? Is there nothing that bothers you about your significant other? I'm guessing yes but you still love them, right?
You're a newbie and sooner or later you'll get slammed by someone-we all have been- so do not take things too seriously.

Tiger, I hope your little one is ok.

Sorry, but if disney continues to increase prices there will be more of us who can't afford to go.We choose to discuss what we feel are important things that need improving. What is wrong with that?

WDW has gone downhill for the fervent Disney fan, not for the millions of average folks who want to take a vacation to "that Amusement park down there in Florida."

That sounds reasonable. Those casual visitors either like or dislike WDW to begin with and just see it for what it is at that moment.
