The other day I saw something cute. I was driving home, and passed a woman in her yard sitting, probably gardening. She had a big yellow lab with her sitting facing her. In the brief time it took me to pass them, I could see that she was having an actual conversation with this dog. He was tilting his head in response, and she was looking him directly in the eye talking to him. I don't think it was a training session.
I have "talked" to my dogs, "good boy", "come here", "do you want to go outside", and even a few longer praises/commands. But as far as extended conversations, I am afraid that I don't do that. (I don't know why not, they're probably the only ones in my house that will listen to what I say!)
Do you talk to your pets as though you were having an actual conversation? What do you talk about? Do they talk back???
