Do you still say the name MGM Studios and not call it Hollywood Studios?

Do you still say the name MGM Studios and not call it Hollywood Studios?

  • Yes I like to call it MGM because that was the parks original name and I was use to it.

  • No I call it Hollywood Studios and have no problem doing that.

  • I don't care about the name because it's still the same park like it was befor the name change.

I am wondering are there some people out there who mention Hollywood Studios as still being named MGM Studios, since it had that name for a long time and nothing but the name has changed. Personally I have no problems calling it Hollywood Studios, however I know someone who still likes to call it MGM Studios.

I have no problem calling it "Disney Studios" but sometimes I catch myself by habit calling it MGM.

We call it MGM because that's what it is to us, it's just habit. It's funny our boys call it that too, I guess because they have always heard it from us.

I still call it MGM mostly out of habit, not out of some protest against the name change. My 12 year old DD, on the other hand, very much protests the name change and refuses to call it Hollywood Studios. From the time she was small, she said that MGM stood for Movies, Games, and Magic. She says that's still the essence of the park, and it will always be MGM to her.

I don't really mind the change, but I pretty much always call it MGM anyways, just out of habit.

Creature of habit here as well :confused3

At least I finally stopped calling POR Dixie Landings! :lmao:

I sometimes call it MGM out of habit, but in general I call it Studios. I still call ADRs Priority Seatings a lot, too. ;)

We used to say MGM but now tend to call it the Studios park because that's what we call the one in Paris where we go every year so it's easy to call them both the same. But what's in a name?

Still call it MGM when I am talking about it. Its just easier. But I have tried to break the habit of typing it as MGM and putting DHS.

I try to remember and call it by the correct name but when I start writing out my possible itineraries/ADR's for an upcoming trip, I always goof at least once and you can see where I cross out MGM and put in DHS! :)

i definitely still call it MGM Studios!! i'm not upset that they changed the name, and i'm not calling it MGM out of anger; it's just habit i guess! :) i do confuse other people though who are first-time/recent disney travelers... i ask them what they liked most about MGM and they look at me like i've lost my mind... almost like i don't know anything about disney, even though i've been there 14 times! :lmao:

I have always called it MGM, even when they first changed the name to Disney Studios and then back to Disney MGM Studios. Even on our last trip a few months ago we all called the park MGM.

DH still calls it MGM but then he still mentions Mr. Toads Wild Ride is at MK even though we've been lots of times and it's not there. :rotfl:

I have no problem calling it Hollywood Studios.

Everyone in our house still calls it MGM. Heck we got to open the park back in 2005. So it will ALWAYS be called MGM.

I voted for MGM because mostly, I still do. Creature of habit. I call it Hollywood Studios as well but, unfortunately for people who have never been there, I usually refer to it by both names, on accident, in the same conversation and then they're all sorts of confused.
