I just wanted to say thanks - the memories this thread brought back are priceless. :teeth: ::yes::

Shoot I remember when the entire area of USF was trees. I remember going to places like Mystery Fun House and Wet n Wild in the early 80s where, only a couple miles away, USF was just trees LOL.
Mystery Fun House ruled!!! I loved their Lazer Tag!

No one's mentioned the Rocky & Bullwinkle street show that was performed in front of Bull's Gym on the border between Production Central and New York. That was a fun show.

And the "commissary" where Monsters' Cafe is now, was called the Studio Stars. It was a great sit-down restaurant with a terrific buffet lunch.

Also, the dumb AT&T exhibit at the entrance to what is now Woody's KidZone.

Of more recent vintage, but sorely missed, is the real live talking Shrek who used to appear outside the Gardens of Allah.

I've been toying with the idea of posting online somewhere all the no-longer-there attractions in my old guidebooks. Call it "Dead Orlando" or something.

I remember our first trip. Back to the Future was doing test runs and we were one of the first to ride. My MIL and FIL loved the ride and MIL was saying Holy S--- during the whole ride. As a memorial to her everytime we're back we make sure it is one of the first rides we ride. I remember Frankenstein in the Parking lot walking around. The parking lot was where IOA and Citywalk are now. Jaws was down due to rust. My kids were excited just to see the Ghost Busters Car and Characters walking down the street. I have a picture of my father with Charlie Chaplin. I don't know if they still have them walking around, I would love to get one with him, we lost my father this past year. Othe things I remember is a Great Blues Brother's Show in Front of Finegans I believe. ET had the bikes and I thought the other vehicle was like a surry bike or something. Anyhow it was a great trip back in 1991.

Kelly-
You're right. That buffet was one of the best in town. And the Bullwinkle airplane thing was fun too. I miss Boris.

That was a great show. The ending always cracked me up!

[BWasn't there some sort of "I Love Lucy" show where they took audience volunteers up on stage. All I can remember is the frantic "chocolates on the conveyor belt" scene.... [/B]

Completely wrong theme park! If I remember correctly, this was at Superstar Television at Disney MGM Studios. Of course, that's no longer around either.

I remember a lot of these too! I have a picture of DH with "Marilyn Monroe" and one with Xena and Hercules. It seemed to me that the Earthquake ride has changed too. We were there last week and I didn't remember it being the same as two years ago when we were there.

For anyone that still wants to pick up souveniers from some of the recently eliminated rides (ie, King Kong), the Universal gift shops still sell postcard packs with the old rides in them. I am still missing King Kong....loved that ride!

Can't wait to hear more...keep those old memories coming!
