Do you miss it

I see a lot of people saying that they won't ever give up books, but there is one other reason why eReaders are fantastic - and that's because you can enlarge the font.

I have reading glasses, but I can increase the font on my Nook, and I don't have to wear them. I also have arthritis in one of my fingers. I find it much more comfortable holding my thin, lightweight book, than having to hold open a paperback, or even worse, a hardcover book.

I'm not getting any younger, but I can't imagine giving up reading. The Nook is simply just more comfortable to use.

Feel free to laugh but the closest library to me is a 3 hour bus ride round trip so I know what you mean about the library not being convenient to get to

That seems odd. If you are in Rockledge, you shouldn't be more than 5 miles from a public library; either the Brevard Co PL HQ just north of the Merritt Causeway, or Suntree Viera at the north end of Melbourne.

I got my first Kindle about 3 years ago and was afraid that I would miss the weight, feel and smell of "real" books
But I am a big convert now
I have a Kindle Fire and I LOVE it
I liked "bookbub" on face book and it sends me a free or inexpensive book in my genre everyday
Dont miss paper books at all

I know nothing about the town you have listed as your hometown, but I'd bet money that this isn't true.

Rather have an actually book in my hands to read then an e-reader. Just love the way books feel in my hands when reading them. Don't think I would ever get an e-reader at all.

I have a Kindle Fire and love it. I also read real books, most of which I borrow from the library. I get lots of ebooks from our state virtual library. So I usually have at least 3 books going on at the same time; one on the Kindle , one regular book and an audio book in the car. I also have the kindle app on my laptop so if I have a few minutes free at work I can read whatever is on my kindle on that as well.

I don't have an e-reader and never will. Good old fashioned paper books is the way to go for me.

I have a Kindle which I love. I also have so many books that I don't have room for any more - which is one of the main reasons I have the Kindle. Lately I do most of my reading on the Kindle, and except for a couple of authors (whose first editions I collect) I only buy kindle books now. I still read lots of "real" books, and I do love them. But the main thing I love about books are the stories inside them, and those are just the same whether they are on paper or a Kindle. I don't enjoy reading books on my iPad - it bothers my eyes after I've read for too long - but the e-ink of my Kindle looks just like a normal book.

I have a first generation nook, which I love. Got a samsung tablet with both nook and kindle apps. Kept the nook for reading outdoors. Won't buy a paperback or hardcover if I can get the book electronically.

Until books aren't in existence anymore, I'm sticking to them. I love new technology but I will never give up books, magazines and newspapers.

I am an avid reader and I am a total convert to the Kindle. I love how accessible and cheap books are. Everything is in one place.

Another minor annoyance with my Kindle Fire...

Occasionally, I'll want to look back at something that happened in a book. To me, that's easier to do with a normal book than the Kindle.

Do you miss books now that e readers are in the picture?

No. I still have lots of books around and I am as likely to pick up a
'real' book as I am to read a book on my Nook. I do love the convenience of my Nook because when I go on a trip, I don't have to think about which book or how many books I should bring with me and I don't have to carry them around because I have ALL of my ebooks right there on my tablet...1300 books to choose from right in my pocket. And I always know what page I left off on because my Nook remembers for me :cool1:

I love my Kindle.... and my ipod - don't have to deal with books and cds and finding storage for them, etc. Of course, I'm trying hard to downsize my house too :lmao:

I don't use e-books. I'd rather read the old fashioned kind of book, and I always will.

I never thought I'd like an a-reader but I received a nook for Christmas and I love it. The only thing I don't like about it is that it acts glitchy when I'm reading in the sun and it gets too hot. I have to be sure to keep it in the shade and that can be a pain sometimes. Also, I don't like having to remember to keep it charged and I often worry about it failing on me. But other than that, I love it and don't really miss books at all. (I cannot believe I just typed that!)
