Do you miss it

Yes and no. I love my Kindle, its so convenient and I can take an entre library with me wherever I go. I don't have to lug a big book with me, I just throw my Kindle in my purse.

When I get the urge to read an actual book, I just grab a cookbook.

I told myself I would NEVER go to a Kindle because I loved the "feel" of real books.

I've had a Kindle about a year. I am now a convert. I love it.

But I do keep a collection of books at home-- all of them are signed by the author.

I still have traditional books, and I still get them from time to time from friends and from the library.
But nothing beats being able to bring a whole library of reading material on vacation and only having to pack my Kindle. :thumbsup2 I like having both options.

Not a fan of e readers. I like to hold a book, smell it, feel the weight in my hands. I carry a book in purse at all times

I am enjoying the iPad but one of my books is not available so that will be the only book I will be reading vrs e reader for the book challenge

I love my Kindle but I love my real books also.

I love the Kindle for vacation purposes. I can never decide which book to bring and it is just easier to throw the Kindle in my bag.

Oftentimes I will read a book on the Kindle and then if I love it, I will buy a hard copy to read again later. A good majority of the books I have are double (or triple) copies... Kindle, hard copy, and some audiobooks.

I don't have an e-reader, probably never will (never say never, tho). I love books and I live about 3 miles from my county's headquarters library. It is a huge building and I could spend the whole day there. One of my favorite quotes:

"Books are the perfect entertainment: no commercials, no batteries, hours of enjoyment for every dollar spent" Stephen King

I have a Nook, and I love it.

The only time I will purchase a real book, is if it's a book with tons of pictures, like a travel guide. I've also found that I don't care for reading my magazines on my iPad. I used to devour my People and Us every Friday when they arrived. Now I find that I'm about two months behind reading them.

So, I guess book, no... I don't miss real books in the least. Magazines, yes. I'd rather read a magazine in paper form.

Mean't to also add that I don't read while on vacation. I read at home or work or any spare moment but my vacation is for having fun, fun, fun, lol.

No because I don't own an e-reader.

eReaders will never replace honest to God, tactile books as far as I'm concerned.

I love my nook! It is easily in the top three of my favorite "luxury" gadgets that I own.

We still buy books but only from our top two favorite authors. We have the collection and continue it now. We move often and moved over 200 books last year and that was with downsizing our book collection. I love that I have 200 books on my nook alone.

How much I read on vacation totally depends on what type of vacation I'm on. WDW? No way. I'm on the run too much and too exhausted when I get back to my room.

The beach? I will devour a book while on a beach vacation. A good book, a glass of wine, and the beach in front of me, is like heaven.

I love my Kindle, but I still buy regular books, too. Some books are just worth savoring and electrons just won't do that for me. Oddly enough, I've read a few on Kindle and then bought the hardback just for that reason. They're re-reads for lazy days. Ahhhhhh.

I have a Kindle Fire and have read on bunch on there. Do I *LOVE* it? No. The battery only lasts a couple days, three at the most. It always wants to die when I'm reading. Of course, I have apps for the kids to play on, so that wears down the battery too.

As far as "having a library available", yes, I have about two dozen books loaded on the Kindle right now, but how many books do you read at one time?

I won this in a drawing at work and am glad I didn't spend a couple hundred dollars on it.

I feel the same way. I'm not usually old-fashioned when it comes to technology, but with books I am.

And I want to WANT an e-reader, but I don't know how I'll kick the paper book habit if I want to. I have a bookshelf waiting to be read, I have 18 credits (books due to me) with my online book swap, and $90 in credit at my used book store. How on earth could I justify spending the money on an e-reader anytime within the next 5 years!
