Mine has finally died. :sad1:

I loved my dishwasher. We purchased it about 10 years ago and it was relatively inexpensive (around $300 at the time). It actually washed the dishes without rinsing even oatmeal bowls that had sat all day!

We're looking to replace it but I don't want to spend a fortune. If you have one that you love, I'd like to hear about it. I'm looking for either black or stainless.

Thanks!

I LOVE mine.
It is black. Maytag.
LOVE it!
(and it was pretty cheap too).

If you don't mind, I'd love to know the model number.

Sure, here you go:
MDB4621AWBO

I asked about all the models. Wanted one that had a super wash (or whatever they call that) for caked on stuff.
DSis told me to try it on regular wash first and I could always rewash if I needed to. I have only had to rewash one thing in the year that I have had it :worship:
I use the little packets of wash/dawn.
LOVE it!

Yes, I LOVE my dishwasher. It was not cheap, at around $700, but it is a great machine. It is a Bosch with interior and exterior stainless. It has a quick was cycle which I wash everything on and everything comes out clean. Does not have heated dry, because the interior stainless keeps everything hot...so that saves on electricity. And the best part, I can talk on the phone if I want to while standing right next to it when it is running, it is that quiet. My old Kenmore was SO incredibly loud! When we first got the Bosch, we though something was wrong with it because it was so quiet! I'm really glad we spent the extra money!

I LOVE mine! We have 2 DW's in our kitchen, and they can both be running at the same time & we can't hear them! We've had them for almost 4 years & to this day at least once a week I pull one open to put something in, and it's running - they're that quiet! They're stainless steel Jenn Air, with the stainless steel interiors. Tons of cycle options, and I never rinse a dish, they all come out clean. They weren't cheap, about $800 each, but worth every penny over what we used to have.

Before you start looking at too many dishwasher you might need to consider what will fit into your kitchen. When our dishwasher died last year we had to go with the same brand again (Miele) because nothing else would fit.
I thought all dishwashers were much the same size but it turned out there is a lot of variation between brands.

Good luck with the big decision.

Love this one it is sooooo quiet and cleans mega well.Dries very good too.
Engery saver, lots of cycles and a sani rinse too. Very tall bottom tub. I put pots in and plates sit a day, cleans a lot better then the last Maytag I had.
This is mine and I only paid about $369 on sale last year, one of the Internet special links for after hour. But they gave it to me the sale price before the start that night.

Love mine! It's a KitchenAid Whisper Quiet +.

It really is quiet- you can hardly tell when it's running.

Thank you for the replies.

We're going to Sears appliance tonight to start our search and probably go to Grants as well later this week. For now, I'm doing it the old fashion way as my kids say.

Keep the suggestions coming!

I'm still looking for a new dishwasher.

I thought that I had it figured out. I had found what I believe to be the same model as mine (a Kenmore Ultra Wash) at Sears on clearance. I thought that is what I'd get but we've decided to look some more. Now, I'm totally confused.

We stopped at a local appliance store here in the Chicago area (Grants). They showed us a product with the Fulgor brand. I had never heard of this before but the sales person said that they make cooking products but had Kitchenaid make a dishwasher for them.

Now the confusion sets in. The appliance store is always overpriced but then they give you a "discount". The tag was about $900 (way more than I want to spend) but he said that they have them in black instead of stainless (I want black) and the price would be $379.

The inside is stainless (I'm not sure if that's good or bad) and it has a food grinder (I have to have that).

The sales person said that this would be in the "K" series with Kitchenaid.

I hoping that someone here has this dishwasher (I know it's a slim chance) or can tell me what they think of their "K" series Kitchenaid.

Here's a link to the Fulgor

In the meantime, I'm still washing dishes by hand and my daughters are ready to kill me. They sent DH and I out of the house and were disappointed when we came back without buying one. ;)
Thanks again!

That would be "me" - so - yes!! :goodvibes

I like mine. It's a Kenmore Elite. Not the quietest, but it has a delay feature and I utilize that a lot so I don't have to listen to it.

I have a Miele now..before this one I had a Kitchen Aid Superba, before that a Maytag..I liked the Kitchen Aid better than all of them!

Personal choice, it is good to ave a stainless tub. But does it have the wash cycles you would like and good motor. Do a google search for pros and cons.

For my microwave, I went not with a Kenmore, but Amana from the delivary to store great price. 2.0 sq foot and loce it more then my Kenmore.

BUT the dishwasher I love the second Kenmore with the ultra wash and sani rince much better then the kitchen maid and Amana. FOr cost and features reason.

Also it is the quietest and deepest cleaning. fastest dryering I ever had.
Do a comparson on the features.

HATE ours! Our new house iis a new construction and the new dishwasher is the worst thing ment to man.

We thought of upgrading our color appl but never thought of upgrading the model. DH keeps threatening to throw it out the back door one of these days. The silverwear drawer is in the middle of the bottom basket (old house it was on the side) and the stupid plastic things comes up the middle of this machine so ou have to pack it carefully away fromt he midlde or nothing will get clean. The plastic thing in the middle take up so much room.

With family of 5 I am running it 2 times a day every day to do all our dishes.

Why do you have two dishwashers?
