Do you love where you live?

We feel like we live out in the middle of nowhere BUT within 5 miles there is a newer Super Wal-Mart said:
Lol 10 minutes to Target is NOT in the middle of nowhere - try 40 minutes to the nearest Walmart and over an hour to Target

i HATE where i live.
i live in brampton, ontario which is about 20 minutes outside of toronto. there is NOTHING to do here, it's overpopulated to the point where they are having to build new schools about once a year to accomodate, yet the keep building development upon development and more and more people keep moving here. the population is probably close to 600-700k! there is construction EVERYWHERE, it's impossible to get in&out of the city, the weather is generally terrible, we had a few nice weeks in the summer and one nice week in the fall, other than that it's been miserable this year! the people here are not friendly, they are all terrible drivers, the crime rate just keeps going up...it's just...not pleasant. the winters are pretty bad, but the worst thing is that people here for some reason don't know how to adapt to the winter weather which makes it all the more unbearable.
a LOT of people here are new to canada which could be why they are so ill prepared for winter, i do like the multi cultural aspect of my city (they have a great cultural festival in the summer), but other than that...bleh.
but i'm sure there are people who LOVE brampton (my DBF for example) i just, i do NOT like it here.

i used to live in montreal quebec and man did i ever love it there! i'd move back in a heartbeat if i could! such a different place!! the winters are definitely worse but at least people are prepared for them. and sure you get some snippy french people, but honestly, i prefer that! it's nicer, less crowded, much more exciting, more to do, i miss it so much!

(rant over haha)

I'm 20 minutes from WDW and 30 minutes from my job, which I love. I drive through orange groves and get to watch them go from orange blossoms (which smell fabulous!!) to ripe fruit all year and then it starts all over again. My daughters have first rate schools, and my hubby works for Disney.

I love where I live.

Remind me of that when I'm melting in mid-August next year. lol

Which city is this? DH wants to move to FL but I worry about finding decent schools so I'm curious where you live. :)

I live in Auburndale. :) My sister lives in Lakeland, and her kids also go to very good schools. :thumbsup2 Like with any city, it depends on what part of town you live in. Some parts are nicer than others so be careful and check them out well.

I used to live in Hillsborough County (Tampa area) when we first moved down, and I have to say that their school was not good at all. But I am very happy with Polk County schools!

I love my community, but I would happily leave Michigan weather behind if we didn't have family ties keeping us here!

The town we live in is wonderful. We just moved here in July from another similar-sized town nearby, and I cannot believe the difference - a thriving Main Street, huge support for the schools, lots of kids/families and activities for them, and just a much friendlier community overall. I didn't expect moving 10 miles up the road to make such a big difference in the "tone" of the community. It is a small town, good schools, beautiful setting (my walking route takes me through meadows and farmland, along a pretty little river, and then back into a town full of turn-of-the-century homes), a little farther from the city than where we used to live but an easier drive so hitting the big shopping districts 20 and 40 miles away is much easier, and getting into Detroit for sports/cultural events is quicker despite the additional mileage. Really, the weather is my only complaint; Michigan winter wears on me a little more each year, and it seems a hundred times worse this year, on the heels of such a cold summer.

Honestly..........no!

Wish I could just pack up & move to a warmer area, but that's easier said than done, unfortunately.

So, again, in answer to your question......no, I don't really like where I live.

Ditto! Tired of the weather in Illinois. Tired of the unfriendly neighbors, and the hustle, and bustle of this area. Where I live it is definitively every man for himself. Used to have a great school system but even that has gone down hill. No so much grade school, that is alright, but the high schools have become a great disappointment. DH insists of staying put, so here we are.

I live in Katy, Texas. I really like it here. It is 30 min. from Downtown Houston. It is a very nice city and very affordable. The property taxes are high, but there are no state income taxes. Eight months out of the year the weather is wonderful, four months out of the year it is a blistering oven. If you don't like snow this is a great place. I am 39 years old and I have seen snow stick to the ground twice.
