Do you like Ken Jennings hosting Jeopardy?

The first week or two were rough, he was too fast and clipped, but he’s found a good rhythm and shows genuine interest in the contestants. They film 5 shows a day, so he wouldn’t have had a chance to watch himself and get feedback until at least those first 5 shows were taped. I’m not keen on watching a revolving host cast to be honest.

I'm in the Ken Jennings camp. He gets better every day. His delivery is great (and that must be difficult to do), and he interacts with the guests just fine. He understands the questions with his vast knowledge, and that's a plus.
I am not looking forward to any of the guest hosts, especially Dr Oz and Anderson. I have a feeling that the ratings will drop off without Ken.
If you want Ken to stay, please write to Jeopardy and let them know. I wrote to them recently and I hope it helps him get the job. If any of the others get the job, I doubt if I will watch it much.

I think Ken has really done a great job and wish they would just give him the job. It really takes several shows for a host to get into their groove and having hosts for only a couple of weeks at a time is going to drive me crazy now that I am used to Ken. I saved Alex's last show and watched part of it last night after the current broadcast and it felt awkward to hear Alex now that my brain is trained on Ken's voice and style.

The only female host I am even remotely looking forward to is Mayim Bialik. I cannot stand Katie Couric and Savannah Guthrie - barf. I wish they had Jeff Probst do a few shows as he used to do a great job on Rock N Roll Jeopardy back in the day.

I'm hoping that LeVar Burton gets a shot at guest hosting. But I do seem to be enjoying Ken Jennings more than I thought I would. I still don't think anybody's going to be as good as Alex.

I think he would be horrible

IMO being first was most difficult and I think Ken is doing a very good job.

He clearly liked and respected Alex (and from what I understand Alex liked and respected him), he loves the game, he can relate to the contestants, and let's not forget he knows everything.

He has made the transition bearable for me, and that's saying something. For now, I'm definitely team Ken.

I'm trying to keep an open mind about upcoming guest hosts, but if I'm being honest, my gut says I'm going to hate some of them.

Does Ken actually want the job permanently, or was he just helping out because he liked and respected Alex?

I did read an article where Ken said hosting Jeopardy would be a dream job. That was before Alex passed though, and in the same article, he also said he couldn't imagine anyone but Alex hosting. Agree that he's probably trying to keep it very respectful right now.

He was already working on Jeopardy as a consulting producer this season.

He's also doing The Chase with Holzhauer and Rutter.

Has anyone been watching The Chase?
I'm undecided about that one.

i enjoy this version, but the version on Game Show Network was even better. I enjoyed the banter between Brooke Burns and Mark Labbett AKA The Beast.

These are all really good points. Being the first host to show up after Alex could easily have been a pretty thankless position to be in, and Ken's weathered the tough part very well. On a similar note, I think that if he — or someone else — had immediately been announced as Alex's permanent replacement, he'd have faced a much more critical fandom than he gets in the rotating-guest-host plan.

I didn't expect to enjoy Ken in this role as much as I do. I was (and still am) looking forward to seeing people who use their voices on camera for a living, regardless of whether they're actors, news anchors, or presenters. But it may be hard to find someone who can manage the proper pace as well as Ken.

As for The Chase, I like it. Not as much as Jeopardy, but it's not bad. I'm not really a fan of trying to inject drama into a game show by way of human gimmickry, but it could be worse. At least it's not The Wall, which I can barely watch with its transparent heartstring-yanking.
