Do you know anyone famous?

I dont know anyone, but Cantw8 made out with Danny Partridge when they were kids

I dunno how famous they are but I visited a man who for 20 years or so used to host a local Los Angeles Surf radio show. He did several interviews while I was there so I got to visit a bit with some of his guests. One was the drummer for Dick Dale and another is the gentleman who's quite famous for his album cover art like the Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix, the Doors.

The radio host also dragged me to a birthday party for Sandra Dee....at her home! LOL

My gramma lived next door to and used to babysit little Frances Gumm. *google*

I occasionally sell items from my shop to famous people. :p

Google not needed. How cool is that?

My DH is a high school teacher and had Mike O'Malley in class. If you don't know...Mike has been on Yes Dear and more recently Glee as Kirk's dad. I met him about a year and half ago and have pictures of me with him.

I used to babysit for a very famous sports star **think LA Raiders, KC Royals, Chicago White Sox** They lived next door and were a WONDERFUL family!!

I'll play. I don't really *know* many famous people. However, I've had lunch with Paul Molitor a few times, dated a guy who played for the cubs, my cousin is an author and her daughter travels the world playing (and composing) with a symphony orchestra, plus she's been in quite a few movies- including the new Marvels Comic one. Umm...my great aunt sold a few guitars to Elvis (far before my time). And my sister does stand up comedy and hangs out with various Comedy Central people when they're in town. They know me as "oh yeah....you're her sister". Hahahahahaha

DDad is in television so I met tons of famous people growing up. He used to do Soundstage and we would go watch. Oak Ridge Boys, very nice, Doobie Brothers ditto. Gordon Lightfoot was a jerk. Jesse Jackson was smooth to the point of being oily. We used to tease Dad that he had an FBI file. One year back in the 70's, there was a Presidential debate at the station so he had to have a thorough security check. His biggest claim to fame was hanging out of a helicopter shooting Cheap Trick in concert, that was way cool.

I am famous because I was on Romper Room as a child... :rotfl: I was a stand in, whenever there was a sick kid, they would call my dad and ask him to bring me in. I remember getting a box of cereal as a reward once...

DDad also went to school with Harrison Ford. "Harry" was an AV nerd! Dad's old yearbooks are a hoot. There is the very dashing (now) Harrison in a checked shirt buttoned all the way up to the neck! :lmao:

Oh Im sorry to hear that, FIL jammed with him for awhile and has nothing but fond memories of him. Maybe a different time in his life? :confused3

Yes...Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto! ;)

I have met a few celebs...Bryan Adams and The Pointer Sisters...not together! I waited on Barbara Bush one day....she is a lovely lady!

Ok, I'll play. . .

My cousin is married to Roy Hamilton who used to play for the Detroit Pistons. He's a great guy.

I went to school and was chemistry lab partners with Yaphet Kotto's son . . .think Mr. Big in Live and Let Die or The Running Man.

I didn't know them real well, but I did know Gary and Van Conner of the Screaming Trees. They drove around my college town in a hearse and their parents owned the video store. . .New World Video. Their Mom was super nice and cool. . .kind of a laid back hippie type. My ex's cousin's boyfriend did some of their album cover art. . .not sure which ones, but the more surreal style ones.

A good friend that I worked with in HS and early college is first cousins with George Lynch of Dokken, but I never met him.

This one kind of gets me. . .back when I was in my early twenties, going to CC and cocktail waitressing, there was a guy who came in a few times who would talk to me, hit on me, try to get me to go out with him. He said he was new in town and that he played for the Tacoma Tigers. He seemed nice enough and he was fairly attractive, but not my "type". So I always just blew him off. Turns out it was. . . . .

wait for it. . . . .

Mark McGwire!!! :scared1::headache:

If your still interested, Mark, I'm willing to give you a second chance. :rotfl:

I only have a few here. When I was 3 or 4 I met Carlos Santana because my half-brother's dad used to play in his band for awhile back in the early 80s. When I was in 7th grade I met Loni Anderson as my history teacher was her daughter! The next year I creepily watched Sherman Hemsley at the grocery store in front of us. We lived in Lake Tahoe and they were doing The Jefferson's musical show thing that year, so they were all spotted wandering around town. I went to high school with a guy whose dad was a TV producer, not anyone real exciting I guess since he wasn't famous but hey. That's about it since I moved away from California and no one exciting (to me) comes to Texas and I've long since grown out of waiting after concerts to meet musicians or celebrities.

Oh and my family is directly descended from William Taft, but since he was most famous for getting stuck in a bathtub we don't tell many people that...

I used to have to deliver for Bon Jovi and Springsteen all the time when I worked at the local pharmacy. I met Moressey at Channel in NYC once. My DH was a H-U-G-E fan, but I had no idea who he was :lmao: He wanted nothing to do with my DH, and kept talking to me, to much of my annoyance, because I wanted to check out the bags. We had just gone to a record store, and I had bought a Dee-Lite CD, which he wasn't happy about - Guess he didn't know who they were.
If I had realized who he was, I would have told him that I was going to buy a Who CD... Would have been so much fun to hear storys about them - if he ever knew them!

My DH used to be a semi-pro skateboarder, so he knows all the big pros.

ETA - I also ment Paul Rudd in Cooperstown NY. It was right after he left Friends. It was so funny, because the entire town was buzzing with it, and the one thing every single girl said was... "Hes so cute, but SO SHORT!!!!!" LOL

i have seen a lot of celebrities as i work in a very fancy hotel in a big city (and yes they are always shorter in real life!)....however the funniest story i have is Lindsey Lohan was filming a movie down the street and staying in the hotel ...she would come into the hotel's restaurant and have her friends/ppl order drinks and she would put her head under the table and drink them...btw she was not 21 yet...

one time president george w. bush was scheduled to make a campaign stop in our city and the secret service was around the hotel for a week setting up security checking things out, sitting on top of surrounding buildings with weapons etc they totally overtook our hotels security dept...anyways, he stopped in and took a nap for a few hours and that was it....

republican national convention took place across the street from hotel so I got to meet lots of great national news casters, msnbc broadcasters, the daily show's ppl etc.... the best was seating tom brokaw at his table and walking him by sam donaldson and seeing their exchange... during this time karl rove was also eating here and felt a little light headed and asked if he could cool down in our walk in freezer....

nobody would know me but i have plenty of funny stories of famous people staying at my work....

WEll fitness guru Denise Austin lives a few blocks away.. I occasionally run by her house in the hopes that she'll use me in her next video ---lol..I've seen her at our local Starbucks and Safeway ggrocery too... Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) used to live here as well and I saw him at Safeway as well.... I've been to countless boring political people's houses here... Sam Donaldson, Mary Matalin and James CArville's house...etc.....

I am friends with several best-selling authors (southern female authors). They are my mentors (because I am trying to get published). :)

I also used to know Telly Savalas (he was a friend of my grandfather's); Grandpa from Hee Haw (he was my mom's godfather); and my uncle was a popular State Senator but all three men have passed now. :( I still know politicians Newt Gingrich and Johnny Isaakson though, as they were friends and colleagues of my uncle. I also know some of the past Braves baseball players, who also were friends and played golf with my grandfather.

Oh, and I went to high school with actor Walton Goggins. He isn't a huge name, but is in a series on TNT and in the new movie Cowboys and Aliens and he won an Oscar a few years ago for an Indy short film. :)

I know who Walton Goggins is because he looks exactly like my bil, my husband and I always call him Phil when we see him in tv shows and movies cause that is our bil's name.

I have seen a lot of famous people, we have quite a few in the small city where I live, but I don't actually know them. I have seen Sissy Spacek the most as she has lived here as long as I can remember.

I wouldn't call her famous but I did see someone I knew in a movie. My husband used to play competitive paintball and one of the mom's we knew from the tournament circuits name was Julia. My husband and I were watching the movie College Road Trip one night and we were just astonished at how much the actress playing Donny Osmond's wife looked like Julia. My husband insisted it had to be her and sure enough it was.

hahah! I'm trying to get him to come to my wedding in Oct 2012, but I'm scared he'd take over the show. :lmao:

:) If you need a helper (cake cutter, chair set up, sweeper), don't hesitate to ask me. No job too small or mundane. :) If you can convince him to come, that'd be fabulous!

I was a background extra on Friday Night Lights for four seasons. I've gotten to meet most of the cast and crew. On our second time filming, our family got to meet Kyle Chandler. (coach Taylor.) He was such a sweetheart that day. It was deadly hot and humid and he came out from his trailer to spend time with my kids and myself. I sent him a thank you card and we got to where we'd speak when we saw each other around set.
Then the season ended and I didn't see anyone from the set for months. There was a screening of FNL in San Antonio that Kyle was at. When I saw him, he came right over and gave me a hug. Since then, that's his standard greeting towards me. A big hug!! I've met his wife. She's really sweet and he and his family are just normal Texans now!!

I've met and been photographed with Miss Americas 1975 and 1976. My parents were their local escorts while they were in town for some public appearances.

My dh used to work with Jumpin' Jim Brunzell. One heck of a nice guy. Jim's dad passed away and we went to the visitation. It was like attending a professional wrestlers reunion. I am ashamed to admit that I walked around that night pretty starstruck.

My DH is a high school teacher and had Mike O'Malley in class. If you don't know...Mike has been on Yes Dear and more recently Glee as Kirk's dad. I met him about a year and half ago and have pictures of me with him.

I didn't know that he grew up in NH until I saw a video from the super secret project!

We have met a lot of people over the years.

Bill Clinton several times
Hillary Clinton several times-even spoke with her on a conf. call
Ethel Kennedy, we were invited to a event, she was so darn sweet
Obama
Joe Biden many times over the years
One of the members for the group Boston
My mom's best friends nephew plays for an MLB team and we met him after a game. He was so nice, my son was so excited to talk with him and thank him for the ball that he had signed for him as a gift.

I think the list goes on, but I can't remember them all right now!

My FIL was the #1 tennis player in the US for much of the 1950s so I know a lot of tennis players through him.

I've had lots of dinners with Kurt Vonnegut, Gay Talese and their families and photographer and renaissance man Gordon Parks always called me his 'adopted god-daughter'
