Do you have July 4th plans?

Nothing too exciting for us. We will probably visit the beach one day if the weather is good. (Can access a quiet one by small boat where my parents live.). Or just stay home and hang out in the pool. We are waiting to see what the weather will be.

Any exciting plans for your 4th of July?

Well, the usual plans always included Disneyland for fireworks, but since that clearly won't be happening this year, and since our beaches just got closed again, we're going to improvise! So we're planning to dine out at a favorite restaurant on Friday, then the rest of the weekend will include homemade pulled pork (provided that we can find the main ingredient!) and homemade ice cream, "Hamilton" on Disney+ (of course!), and viewings of "1776" and "Gettysburg."
ETA: Well, the governor just shut down dine in restaurants for the next 3 weeks... so, plan B for Friday is now bratwurst with roasted onions and apples, maybe grilled poundcake with fruit compote for dessert. And either "The Music Man" or "South Pacific."

I thought about renting a place at the beach near us (about 3 hours away). There is availability, but then I felt like I might get really bored without being able to go out anywhere and I am concerned about crowding on the beach itself. On top of that, if I travel 50 miles outside my area, I have to self quarantine for 14 days on my return. Not usually a problem since I'm teleworking but I have to go into the office on July 13th for something so a beach trip would ruin that. Thought through all of that and then just got a little bummed out.

I'll probably just clean the house over the 3 day weekend.

Lunch and golf with the family on July 3rd
Small cookout with two other neighborhood families on the 4th
Boating with my parents on the 5th.

Really looking forward to the weekend :) :)

I know..it’s just not the same this year. On the bright side, your house will probably be cleaner than mine.😁. Have a great weekend either way.

Nothing special. Hanging with family living on our street and enjoying hot temps. :sunny:

The living history museum near us is reopening. They’re limiting attendance on the 4th of July to 750 people, and we have to sign up in advance to go. There’s plenty of room for social distancing during outside events, and I’m sure they’ll monitor the number of people going into the twenty historic homes they’ve decided to open. Up till now, none of the buildings have been open and one had to make a reservation to even walk the grounds, so we haven’t bothered to go despite being members.

We should have been hitting the road for our Disney World trip. Oh well, next year.

Instead, we will be visiting our home park of Kings Island!!

Stay home and grill in the back yard. We live 10 minutes from an ocean beach, but not going near the crowds. Maybe binge watch a new series. Try to keep my elderly cat calm when the fireworks go off.

No plans anymore. I was going to binge Disney+ and see what the Hamilton hype is all about but won’t be doing that since they got rid of the 7-day free trial.

It’ll be just another Saturday night at home.

Celebrating my mom's birthday with my immediate family. Other than that, nada. Did get to see the "surprise" Macy's fireworks last night though from my balcony! So that helped it feel a tiny bit more normal.
