Do you have any scars ? where and why

most significant-

above my upper teeth, all the way from end to end. to treat tmj they split my gums from end to end, pulled one tooth from each side and removed the corresponding jaw bone above the pulled teeth then pushed/wired it all back together. regained some feeling but the portion above my front teeth has been numb ever since.

My right pinky finger is called my Frankenfinger. I was washing the iinside of a glass and it shattered. A huge piece of glass was stuck in my skin and I pulled it out and bend my pinkie and the skin puckered on both sides...it was a huge cut. I told my daughter to call my parents to drive me to the hospital. I ended up with seven stitches, two on the inside. The most painful part was the freezing needles that they have to put inside the cut. Weirdest thing..it didn't bleed at all. Not one drop. The scar goes from my knuckle and all the way down to where my pinkie joins my palm.

Four small scars from gall bladder surgery

Scar from hysterectomy goes from about 5 cm above my belly button, down around it on the right side, and about 10 cm after that. Took 39 staples.

Scar from c section

Scar on left knee where I fell on a rock and split the skin to the bone. That's not an exaggeration, we could see my very white kneecap. I didn't get stitches so I have a small scar.

Three more scars on that knee from surgery to repair my torn MCL or ACL..I can never remember which one

I also have 10 less body parts than I was born with. I've done a lot of damage to my shell in 42 years LOL

I have about a million, I thought everyone did! My biggest are: a 4 inch scar on the top of my foot from stepping into a hair straightening iron that was 400°. Also a dime sized dimple on my wrist from having a mole removed, I should have had stitches but didn't. And I have one in my eye brow from when I caught a boomerang with my face.

That would be a stick that hit you since I assume it didn’t return :p

C section scar
Two smallish scars on left leg from skin cancer removal
Huge scar on my left side from a big kidney operation from when I was 17

Scars from gall bladder surgery- 4 small cuts

Do stretch marks count?:rotfl:

I have the same! Gall bladder scars and my first baby was big, so my stretch marks on my stomach look like an accordion and the skin is all loose and I hate it--I'm very self-conscious about my stretch marks.

I still have a scar on my finger where my hamster bit me when I was 7 or 8. I have a couple light scars on my face from a bad case of poison ivy when I was a teenager.

Geez! Did it help the TMJ?

Right forearm. About 2-3 inches long. From a sharp piece of metal when I was 5.
Abdomen from a mole removal.
Left pointer finger. Wraps around half the finger. From trying to open a frozen bagel with a serrated knife.

I have one below my left knee, from a hide-and-seek game as a kid. I had scrambled into a corner next to a French door, and my brother opened the door really fast. My knee went right through.

I also have a C-section scar.

I have one in my hairline, that was more on my forehead when I was younger, from when I fell off my tricycle and hit a metal flowerpot that my grandparents had on their patio. I got one, from a beach trip, that goes halfway across the bottom of my foot from a broken clam shell. I have numerous small ones in my belly button and across my stomach from gallbladder surgery, hysterectomy, appendectomy, exploratory surgery, and from having my tubes tied...twice.

Just one that happened when I was coming down a flight of stairs with both hands and arms full of stuff and I missed the bottom step because my vision was blocked by the stuff I was carrying. I landed on my right knee on a concrete floor. That caused my kneecap to dislocate and pop up backwards completely severing my quad muscle. The surgery required a very long incision that is still clearly visible. I did, however, get nerve damage that means that I have to always be aware of where I am walking because I have to manually flex muscles that used to be automatic or my leg will just pop out in front of me. I don't mind the scar, it's like a badge of "stupid" honor, but, that nerve damage thing is quite a PITA. Considering I got through childhood, a war and life's many challenges all my 70 years with just that one scar is something I am very thankful about.

Tomboy here. Would be way easier for me to say where I don’t have scars. The top of my feet, eyebrows, upper shoulders, collarbone, & ears are scar free.

One from my C-section
A few from my gallbladder removal
A chickenpox scar on my face
And a few random scars on my hands I don't even remember what they are all from. One was dropping a bucket of cat litter on my finger.

Left middle finger- slammed the door shut on my hand when I was five. Needed stitches for that one.
Left thigh- took a bath with my cat(don't ask)
Right thigh- barbed wire fence
Both kneecaps- falling on treadmill
Right ankle- cat attack(he tried to jump down from windowsill and tail was tangled up in blind cord, so he was hanging upside down. I was trying to free him and he bit me over and over.)
Lower right eyelid- skin graft from skin cancer.

14 from 7 surgeries by the time I was 9 years old. I have mild Cerebral Palsy and had the surgeries to enable me to walk. I have 5 on each foot/ankle where I had bones and tendons fused, and 2 on each hip fusing tendons. Then of course all the little scars from falling when I was learning to walk again after surgeries. As my DH says, I am not a a klutz I am their QUEEN.

Just a few stretch marks from two pregnancies and those are barely visible any more. It's not that I've never been injured, I just heal up very neatly, without scarring.

My oldest one is a scar at the base of my big toenail that I got while riding my tricycle barefoot. (Not wise.)
I have one on my ring finger from when I got scratched by a squirrel. I was trying to feed him when I was about 6. (Also, not wise.)
I have a big gash through my eyebrow from wiping out on my bike. I tried to take a turn at too high of speed while riding on a gravel road. That's the only one I'm self-conscious about.
I have a burn scar on the inside of my thigh from when I dripped hot glue onto myself while wearing shorts.
I have a scar across the top of my middle finger from where I sliced the top off with an X-acto knife. (I'm blaming sleep deprivation from college for that one.)
And various small scars from chicken pox and on my arms/legs from cats who decided to launch themselves off of me once they decided they had enough cuddling. But those are only visible in summer when I'm "tan" (You wouldn't know I was tan by looking at me because I'm still paler than most other people... but if I can see the chicken pox scars, that means I have a tan.)

My best scar is the one on my right knee. I was about 8 years old riding my bike wearing shorts and fell on a broken Coke bottle. This was my first experience getting stitches and I was traumatized by it. It left a pretty nasty gash and the scar is still visible 50+years later. Around that same time I suffered another bike injury and one on a swingset in the back yard. And people wonder why I don't like to go outside. ;)
