I'm a light reader, but the book that stands out for me is:

"Season on the Brink" by John Feinstein.

The author had incredible luck, when these kids from IU eventually won the NCAA Tourament as this book came out. Plus the access that the author got in Coach Knight's locker room, home, campus, players etc... It's unprecendented.

It had local interest when a incoming freshmen to IU transferred to Georgia Tech due to differences with the coach.

and Damon Bailey. Bob Knight called this 8th grader to be the next big thing in college basketball. He turned out to be pretty average, but I can't fathom the pressure Damon had to deal with after Knight's acolades.

I am a huge Jane Austen fan!!! If I HAD to pick my favorite from her 6 novels I guess it would be Persuasion. But I reread all her novels 2-3 time a year.

I saw someone mention Bridge to Terabithia (I don't know how to spell it either). That book intrigued me so much when i was younger. It's funny I had'nt thought of that book in years.

I loved Bridge to Terabithia - I could never understand why that's on the top 100 of banned books.

I loved "She's come undone " too. I felt a kinship with the main character. Wally Lamb is incredible.

That was an excellent book! Have you read "Jemima J" by Jane Green? It is very similar in storyline, and I found myself just cheering for JJ throughout the book!

I love the Harry Potter series, the Dragonriders of Pern series, Lord of the Rings trilogy (oh, okay, the Hobbit too...), and the Mitford books. I'm sure there are more that aren't coming to mind right now; I love to read!

As a child I loved any horse book, particularly the Black Stallion books; the Trixie Belden series, and the Happy Hollisters.

as an adult I love the Piers Anthony Xanth series, Anne McCaffrey's "Pern" series and Robin Cook books (medical mysteries!)

Before I was able to read, my favorite was the Winnie the Pooh stories. Would have my mom read them over and over.

As a preteen, my favorites were the Laura Ingalls series, the Hardy Boys and a book called "Gypsy from Nowhere"

As I got into HS, I discovered the Dragon Riders of Pern series and the Dragonlance series.

Now I read just about anything, but I love Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books, the are very funny and make for good fluff reading. I also have read the Harry Potter books over and over.

nope, it's by Jennifer Weiner. She wrote "In her shoes" too, which is also really good and being turned into a movie with Cameron Diaz

I'm partial to Junie B. Jones books I also love all the "fluff" books, Bridget Jones Diary, Jemima J., Bergdorf Blondes, anything by Olivia Goldsmith ( ). When I was younger one of my favorite books was Harriet the Spy. I also loved The Phantom Tollbooth

As a fellow kindergarten teacher I too love Junie B. Jones. She is hysterical! As a child I loved Nancy Drew, Little House books, and anything by Judy Blume. My favorite authors now are Maeve Binchy, Rosamund Pilchner (sp?), Sue Grafton for her alphabet mysteries, Anne Tyler and Ursela Hegi (just loved Stones From the River). My all time favorite author is Jane Austen. I reread one of her classics every summer with Pride and Prejudice being my number one choice.

I wouldn't have thought of the Monster at the End of this Book - thanks! THAT is my favorite book to have read to me as a child.

When I was able to read, I LOVED the Boxcar Children. The librarian stopped letting me take them out becuase I loved the first book so much.

I love the Anne of Green Gables series. I have read Little Women and the Stand several times - once per decade of my life and love them.

I loved The Secret Life of Eva Hathaway, Janice Weber. That book cracked me up.

Right now I'm going through a sci-fi author Nancy Kress. I love her stuff.

Pride and Prejudice.

I also love the Harry Potter books, with Book 3 being my favorite. I must reread P&P and the Harry Potter books more than any other book.

I recently read Possession by A.S. Byatt and was blown away by it.

In high school, I was crazy about Gone With the Wind, which was one of the only assigned books I couldn't put down (P&P was the other). To Kill a Mockingbird was an 8th grade reading assignment that I also couldn't put down.

As a kid, I loved the Black Stallion books and I liked a little known series about a girl named Linda Craig and her Palomino pony Chica d'oro. I loved anything that had to do with horses. Could never get into Nancy Drew, but I did read and enjoy a series called The Three Investigators, which was more geared towards boys, I think. Oh well, I liked it.
