Do you HATE cats!?!?

Now if I posted "Do you hate kids?" or even "Do you generally DISLIKE kids?" I wouldn't be able to get away with that.

So how come people are able to get away with THIS? :confused3

I'd rather have 12 cats than one kid, or one dog for that matter.

Seriously, woman...you really need to have this explained to you? Give it a rest.

I love all animals....except birds, sorry bird lovers... :teeth:

Not a hater, but not overly found of them....(don't tell my cat that...she thinks I like her!)
A friend of ours was moving and said she couldn't take the cat. I told her if she couldn't find anyone else to take her, then we would. She stopped looking. Our new boxer puppy loves her....she hates him!!! :confused3

I spent most of my life not liking cats. I had several dogs. About a year ago we got a cat and I became a cat lover. We now have 2 and found a 3rd this weekend. You can't smell the litter boxes in my house.

I could kick myself now for not having cats sooner.

I HAVE THREE INDOOR CATS AND THEY ARE AS LOVEABLE AS CAN BE .I have this thing called a vacuum and it works wonders on the hair they leave behind and I also clean their litter box every 2 days so theres no stink in my house! :sunny:

I couldn't hate an animal if I tried.

I am however, extremely allergic to cats. I can't be around them, but I'd have one or three if I could.

ETA: My dog leaves hair everywhere too. She could probably rival ten cats in that department. She certainly isn't evil though. :sad2:

We have 2 dogs and 4 cats. One of our dogs, the lab mix, sheds more than all 4 cats put together. She also barks at anything that walks by our house, which some people would find very annoying (most of my family, for example). The other dog fumigates our house at about this time every evening. :faint: They poop in the backyard, which is pretty disgusting, especially when stepped in. :crazy2: But we put up with these negatives because they are great pets and there are lots of positives to having them.

Same with the cats. Yeah, scooping the litterbox is not fun, but we bought one of the fancy scooping litterboxes and we only have to scoop one of the boxes. There's not much of an odor, unless they've just used the box. Oust spray is our friend. :teeth:

Oh, and 2 of my kids (teens) say that they only want cats when they are older and not dogs because dogs are noisy and too demanding. They like the type of interactions that they have with the cats and are much closer to them. Of course they will possibly change their minds, but right now they are very verbal in their thoughts.

Being allergic is no fun. Chocolate gives me migraines and because of that I don't like it as much as I used to. I don't knock it to people who do like it and sometimes I even have a little, but I know when to stop to avoid a bad headache. I can understand why you wouldn't want to be around a cat if you're allergic and can see why you associate feeling bad with cats, but assuming that you're an adult, you should have the reasoning abilities to move past the hating of an animal.

I'm not a big fish or bird lover. Have no desire to have either as pets, but I think that they are both pretty cool and I can sure admire the ones that belong to someone else without wanting them myself.

:confused3 I guess there are some cats who are either very aloof, or tempermental and mean, and they wouldn't win anyone over to be a cat lover. On the other hand, I have had a cat or two for much of my adult life, and it's hard to believe anyone could NOT love cats when they are sweet and loving as the ones I have had.

Our previous cat who died in November lived to be about 18 or 19. If we were sitting, she would tap us on the knee to be picked up once she was older and not so lively. She loved to curl up and just enjoy our nearness. She had cute kittenish habits like chasing her tail until the last years of her life. I cried for days when she died because I had known her longer than my husband, and she was like a member of the family.

Our current cat adopted us the day after Christmas. Not sure if he was lost or dropped off in the country, but he wound up on our porch and the rest is history. He has his own language of various meowing sounds and is very "talkative" and interactive. He likes to curl up next to us and sleep on the foot of the bed. He likes to be in whatever room we are in, just enjoying our company. He gets into a hundred different cute funny positions, and often rolls over on his back hoping to have his belly rubbed. I love any kind of cute soft furry creatures, I guess, but when an animal is so good natured and affectionate, its hard to understand how anyone can "hate" them. :sad2:

I have cats, 3 of them, but only as a favor to my kids.
Two of them are really just fine.... an older independent one (who happens to be a cat hater) and a younger cute, playful one.
The 3rd was a barely alive stray (and I do mean barely alive) when my 10 yo DD brought her home from the park. We took her to the vets for a check up and now she is ours.
I call her "booger nose fungus cat". I'd be a happier person without the cats and all of the mess that goes along with them but I wouldn't get rid of them because of it.

Wow. How rude and obnoxious.

This is why I'm glad cats don't talk (or write, in this case).

Plus the biggest cop out in the world to avoiding a legitimate question is to come back with an insult and/or another question.

Dogs- I'll make clear I'm not a dog hater, I grew up with dogs. Its just that they are more trouble than cats and I don't want to take care of a dog. I do enjoy playing with other people's dogs.

count us as cat haters. we are also very allergic. I just dont think they are as affectionate or cute as dogs.

And I much prefer cats to dogs even though I hate no animal. To each their own. :confused3

By the way, this thread is strange and seems pointless except maybe to stir people up.

This thread is nomore pointless than many, many others on the community board :)

I would never do anything to harm a cat or any living, breathing creature for that matter. I just could care less for cats.

I hate cats. I really hate them. They are evil. They are walking flee baskets.

Did I already mention I absolutely HATE them?

Love animals, love cats...:thumbsup2

My dh hated cats because he was attacked when little. In college we had 2 cats, and that was that...he was hooked.
So much so he prefers them to dogs. Which I have to agree.

I have 2 dogs now and I do love them, but geesh cats are so much easier and certainly cooler.

My DH also didn't like cats growing up. I wouldn't say he hated them, but it was close. The only cats he knew of were neighborhood outside cats that would get into fights in the middle of the night and poop in yards. But he knew how much I liked them and we got them soon after we were married. He was hooked and we've always had cats. We now also have dogs, and he was always a dog person, but I think he'd gladly choose the cats over the dogs. But I've told him we don't have to choose. Or maybe he'd prefer not to have any animals. :rotfl:
