Do you HATE cats!?!?

I don't think I could hate or even dislike any animal. Well, okay, maybe snakes. But I don't care for cats. This is probably because I have a pretty severe cat allergy. Because of that, I've never been able to develop a relationship with any cat and see their finer attributes. All I can think of when it comes to cats is itchy eyes, trouble breathing, and a runny, swollen nose that lasts long after the cat has disappeared.

Some cats seem very aloof to me and not lovable. I've gotta have a lovable pet. But there was a cat in my old neighborhood that would run out to greet me when I came home from work. He would walk through my legs and try to get me to pet him. Now, that was probably a nice cat!

Brutus loves cats.

He thinks they taste a bit like chicken.

I am a cat lover. DH was not. But when we moved into our house he promised we could get a cat. We ended up getting two - and he is now a cat convert. Our cats are VERY friendly and affectionate, and DH can't sleep unless our female cat is sleeping with him. Yes, cat hair is a pain and the litter box stinks sometimes, but it's worth it. Our male cat comes in with me every night to kiss the girls goodnight, and comes in with me when I wake them up in the morning. And we can actually leave them for a couple of days without having to worry about them.

But, I can surely understand why someone would not want to have a cat. Just the same way I would not want to have a dog.

I don't trust people who hate cats. ;)

Not really. I don't care all that much for dogs either. Don't know why. Just prefer cats. To each their own.

When I had to have my 10-year-old cat put down because of cancer in her spine I was devastated. Said it would be a long, long time before I could open my heart to another cat.

DD had been trying to give away one of her cats, twice, each time it "fell through." She told me I should take the cat and "give it a try." She kept after me so I finally told her she could bring it down for the day. The cat spent 3 hours curled up on my lap that day. She has been here ever since.
Love her to pieces. She's so affectionate and cuddly. I'm so glad the other people ended up not taking her. I truly believe God meant for me to have her.

Yes, she sheds but so does every dog I've ever known.

Her litter box doesn't smell because I keep it scooped.

I love my babies!!!!!! I have one asleep on my lap right now!

I do, however, hate birds! To each his own I guess.

Cats *do* tend to leave hair around, but litter boxes don't necessarily smell.

I do agree that they can be evil and sinister at times, but that's really part of their appeal for me. Their antics (when they are trying to be evil and sinister) are so funny sometimes!

I love my cats. I can't imagine life without a kitty in it. For me, anyway!

Again, this thread isn't intended to upset all the cat lovers. I'm just saying that I don't like cats and that there are probably plenty of others who don't care for them either. :)
Quite honestly why would one post something knowing that there are many people here who love their cats? I found your thread to be a little offensive, I don't HATE anything unless it hurts me, it would be like me saying I don't like kids because they leave cruddy diapers to be disposed of, they always leave crumbs in the carpet, they spill grape juice, and they scream all the time. Just because you do not like cats that is your opinion but to be so dramatic about it is uncalled for, God made all creatures including humans, and if you don't like them you don't have to have one, but don't generalize all people and say that their houses smell and there is hair all over the place, because quite frankly just like human parents to kids there are some bad ones too. As far as being evil and sinister well quite honestly there are MANY people who are too as evidenced by all the murderers and child molesters in the world, you generalize cats as all being bad, they all have different personalities just like people, dogs, birds and rats! Should I generalize you and say you are a bad person because you just don't happen to like cats? I will take my Binky over many people I know! Have a Purrrrrrfect day!

I do not like cats and afraid of them. I use to like them but now I can only able to see one from a far distance or else I will freak.

I night a long time ago maybe like five years ago, I had a dream about cats and there was millions of them and they were crawling all over me and started to pee on me. Ever since then cats just freak me out even now talking about them Im getting goosebumps.

Also one time not sure if it was after or before the dream but my friend and I was driving around you know that thing that teens do. and we went down this small street alley like but not a dead end and there was a kitten walking across the street so we stop so we would not hit it. Well my cat loving friend gets out of the cat to see if the cat was ok cause it went into a old garage not sure if it was abandon or not but there was a hole in. she looks in the hole and tells me that there is like 15 kittens in there. I think she came back to the car she was driving so was she getting into the car and I looked over and they were all coming out. I rolled up the window ( it was summer) and started screaming like a bwitch for her to drive now. :rotfl:

I used to dislike cats, but then I went out and got one. Why?? Well, I was new to my city and wanted some company, but gone all day long. So I didn't feel right getting a dog and leaving it all day in my apartment.

And oh!..Did I fall in love with my kitty! He's a big, furry, warm mama's boy. Now I have two cats (that's the limit!!) and they are so entertaining and fun.

I do like dogs better, though - on an animal-to-animal comparison. DH says the animals can't outnumber people in this household so we can't get a dog until we have one less cat. Since he is allergic to animals, I let him have his way. ;)

Cats are sneaky, manipulative, arrogant little beasts. They're tiny women in fur coats! :teeth:

I'm allergic to most cats(not all). I've never really met a cat that was nice. I did get a kick out of my neighbors cat though. That cat was a pysco, but she would have never hurt anyone so it was okay. She was cute and sane as a kitten, but when she made that tranformation into a cat and then had a litter of kittens she stopped coming anywhere near humans. She had always been an indoor cat, but hardly ventured inside after that. She came into the house for food and that was it. The second she heard someone coming she would run as fast and far as her little paws would take her. She was also huge, her stomach dragged to the floor(I guess she was doing some hunting on the side when she went outdoors). It was like they didn't even have a cat. They have since moved to PA and I've always wonders how on on earth they tracked her down and convinced her to go in her kennel for the trip there. In conclusion I would never by a cat. I don't like going to people's houses that do because that means I have to het high on bendryl and hope I don't get a rash, sneeze to death, or develope watery and ichy eyes that require windshield wipers to see through. I however do not hate cats it's not their fault that their fur sets off my allergies.

BTW, cats are not evil. Their litter boxes do not smell if kept clean. I prefer my cat to many people I know.

Yup! :thumbsup2 I love dogs too. Do they smell less than cats? Hell no!

Well it's a good thing that the world has dogs. Since we all know that no dog has ever shed. And all dogs smell like flowers.

:rotfl2: Ever been in a room when a Lab farts? Cleared the room in 10 seconds flat!

Now if I posted "Do you hate kids?" or even "Do you generally DISLIKE kids?" I wouldn't be able to get away with that.

So how come people are able to get away with THIS? :confused3

I'd rather have 12 cats than one kid, or one dog for that matter.
