Do you get your nails done or do yourself?

I *just* started getting my nails done about a month ago -- love it!! pink & whites with a super shiny gel topcoat that stays shiny forever! I was doing my own nails before that and the maintenance was unreal! I was either polishing or putting on a top coat all the time. they were not growing at all either. made an appt and *poof*! pretty strong nails all the time. I feel good wearing them too - they always make me feel like my nails are "done" (no polishing, no adding topcoats etc) and all I do is go have them maintained every 2 weeks. worth every penny to me.

I had my nails done for a little while, shalac manicure, and I loved it, but didn't stick with it for long as it gets to be a bit costly after awhile, having it done every 2-3 weeks. So I stopped.
