Do you get your nails done or do yourself?

I started getting mine done again...pink and white. I love, love the way they look but it's already getting expensive. What do yall do? Your own manicure or pay for it? Just curious

Do my own. But then again I rarely wear polish. I work in the garden so it is pointless to have fancy nails. Now I will admit that my nails are pretty tough and they can look like I had them done at a salon if I do anything fancy to them.

I do both. I get it done sometimes, and i do it myself sometimes. But i do it myself more often than i get them done. Because it can get expensive!

Do them myself. Back in '93, I got a nail tech certificate at a local beauty school...never did find a job doing it, but I wouldn't pay anyone to do my nails when I can do them.

Plus at last count, I have 167 bottles of nail polish...

I have acrylic nails that I get done and, in the summer, pedicures I get done every 2 weeks. In the winter, my pedicures are done maybe once a month or so.

I do mine myself. I've had them done before, but my nails are pretty easy to take care of, and I just can't justify the expense...or the time.

I have a gel manicure (shellac or gelish) done every 2 weeks. Its the one thing I don't mind paying for.

Always get them done. Pedicure about every three weeks and manicure once in a while. I cook a lot and the polish always seems to get chipped, but I keep my nails fairly short and my cuticles pushed back.

Is yours the gel nail polish or the gel nails? My DD just got the gel nails and they are priced aliitle better than the pink and white I get. I think I'm going to switch to that. I had a fill in yesterday and it was $35. That was more than I'm willing to pay every 2wks. I work hard and don't splurge on much, and I really like having them done but that was a little steep.

myself, never a salon. I don't like how they do them. I do an awesome job myself and lots of people have asked who did them so I know it can't be bad. Plus, I too have over 100 nail polishes.

I go and get a pedicure every 4 weeks but I do my hands myself. I have very weak and soft fingernails and every time I get them done outside, they split and break. It would take me weeks to nurse them back. I have a weekly ritual on Sunday night...I do my fingernails while watching TV.

I do mine myself. Nothing fancy, but neat and clean.

I usually wear "natural" type polish on my hands, color sometimes. I do like color on my toes - currently a pretty blue. (Inspired by my DD.)

We have a policy at work about nails - nothing artificial; short; if wearing polish, can't be chipped. (For infection control purposes, i.e. a hospital.)

I've only had a mani/pedi a few times. And every time I had my toes done, I wound up with an abnormality to the nail underneath the polish, I think because they put so much stuff on there somehow the nail can't breathe. It takes a long time to grow it out. I can live without that!

I got mine done for years. When I started chemo, I was instructed to stop and I do my own now. I'm not very good at it!!!

I have strong nails and can let them grow as long as I like. However, at some point I scratch my own eyes out when I take my contacts out, lol.

As said, I do it myself, am pretty good at it and am also the proud owner of way too much nail polish. And just ordered 6 more!

The polish. Not a fan of the gel nails, don't like what they do to my nails.. I love love love the polish and my nails are healthy as can be. Regular polish whether done at a salon or by myself, never last me more than a day or two before it starts to chip.

I love love love getting my nails shellacked (sp) but it can really put a dent in your bank account. So I paid super close attention when they were doing then at the salon and then went home and bought all the supplies. It actually has paid for itself with just a couple of at home manicures. I even do my DD nails.

I'm way too cheap to spend money on mani-pedis. Just seems like a complete waste of money to me.
