We've been DVC members since 2002 and have taken six or seven trips but have not received any towel animals. We stayed at WDW at least 12 times prior to purchasing and didn't receive any then either. Annmarie
Last year at OKW we had towel animals at check in on trash and tidy day and full clean. Wow! it was a first!
And of course so many towel animals on our DCL cruise last September. My mother made me take pictures of everyone!
No animals here either, just some nicely folded towels. However, during T & T we have always been in the room. The ladies just handed us the towels, checked a few things, we tipped, and they were off. Maybe it is something that is done when there's not an audience??? Maybe it's a zen thing and a quiet room promotes creativity?? Oh well, I guess there's always next trip!
P.S. I have no complaints about Mousekeeping, our rooms have always been ship shape!
Just got back from VWL this week and were greeted upon check-in to our studio with two bunnies, one sitting on top of the towel rack and one on the sink faucet.
We have not had towel animals, but we have had Mousekeepers do really cute things with the kids toys and stuffed animals. One time at VWL, the stuffed dog was sitting on a pillow, reading the Family Fun magazine, and wearing my DD's crown.
The kids were thrilled. Honestly, though, we had more towel animals and stuffed toy surprises staying at POR than we have ever had at DVC.
We've had towel animals like the bunnies from wash clothes at OKW....has mostly been on the longer trips that were at least a week though. (we tend to do alot of 2 or 3 nighters here and there). And we also had a pluto dog towel animal last year at VB ...it was only a wknd trip but they also new it was my (at the time) 3yr old's b-day. Maybe that affected our chances? Not sure...but we have on occassion gotten them
