Do you get the boot on Halloween party nights?

hahaha Buffalo represent! Canadian frustration is abound in this city. I live 5 minutes from the outlet mall in Niagara Falls, where this may be even worse. Add to it the U-turns and slamming of breaks in the middle of the road because no one knows where they are going. But I digress ;)

And it is going to get worse: heard on the news that they are adding a lot of stores to the outlet mall:scared::scared:

Agreed! :) I'm sorry, OP, this isn't meant to be a dig at you, but I'm glad to know that Disney is upholding their end of the bargain for those that have purchased tickets.

Um, yeah, no offense meant to anyone, but I'm not spending $200 on additional tickets to attend a "ticket-only" event, only to have people who haven't spent the same I have standing around and watching/participating in the same thing, fireworks or not. That is extremely unfair...

Also, you might want to call on your reservation. I worked with the IPO to get a CRT reservation during the party, (which they talked me out of), but they mentioned a 6:55pm time, and then said they would only secure the reservation if I had tickets already purchased to MNSSHP...

My DS10 and I were at Liberty Tree for dinner, had a 6:50 ADR. After the meal, around 8:15ish, we just casually strolled out of MK and checking out all the sights and sounds. It was fantastic! Nobody checked us for wristbands either, but we didn't try to take advantage of the situation. We just took pics and watched the parade, as we were walking out of the park. I think if you are taking the normal 15-20 minute exit time and you are lucky enough to catch a little of the show going on, it's a plus. For that reason alone, I took another 6:50 ADR this October. Not looking to cheat anybody out if they bought tickets, but those 15-20 minutes of walking out of the park were enough of a good memory to do it again this year. The $130+ for 2 tickets just doesn't work for us.

However, if you are there for a week, there really is no advantage to getting it, other than you are now paying $300+ for passes....plus another $60+ to go to the party. Cutting a day off from 7 to 6 really only saves you $10.

Depends on how you look at it. We don't do park hoppers but we go to the party. The party tickets cost roughly the same as Hoppers so we are even on that. The only park we'd ever really want to hop from is AK anyway so we do that on party morning and then go to the party. Two parks in one day, same as hopping, but with the benefit of all the extras of the party. For us, it works out to a good deal.

We also happen to think the trick or treating experience (I don't let my kids trick or treat house to house for a lot of reasons that don't matter in this post, so trick or treating in MK is all they get), AMAZING fireworks show, special parade, different characters, dance parties, etc, are worth it. One year we all got face painting done for free (not sure if they still do that) and that alone would've cost an awful lot of money during the regular park hours.

To us, it's worth the price.

I wouldn't count on another unescorted stroll out of the park. Sure it happens on occasion when staff isn't available, but that is the exception and not the rule.

$130 for 2 tickets doesn't work for a lot of people, but if they want to see the parade they find a way.

Prepare to be flamed. I am guessing that if you don't wear blinders to cover your eyes and don't walk as fast as possible to the front gate, then people here are going to call you out as gaming the system. I'm surprised Disney doesn't run a bus that sucks people without wristbands into it and then just shoots them out to the front. Better yet, if you don't walk straight out without stopping and without even glancing at the parade God Forbid, then you go to Disney jail.

better bring your dog bones to entice the dog with the key...

Glance as you move. But if you stop to watch, or stop to take photos, yes, I think you are trying to get something for nothing.

I am sorry, but to me, that is just beyond silly. If Disney wanted to treat their people paying the $60 so well, they should stop being so greedy and close the park for the hour in between so nobody is in there without a party pass. if people happen to leave their ADP, which once again, Disney allowed them to get even knowing they would be there when they shouldn't be, then shame on Disney and not the people who paid to get into the park and paid for their dinner and paid to leave the park as well.

Your beef should be with Disney for not at the VERY least, forcing people without party tickets to get their ADP up to 6pm at the latest or something like that. I for one would not run my 6 year old out of the park during a parade because we are "trying to get something for nothing". Especially when I am dropping $3000 for my next vacation. Sorry...$3000 to me isn't nothing.

This is why I would never stay after hours on a party night...who needs the aggravation coming from the beautiful people who pay the extra money to go to the party while us schmucks in steerage do not.

Either your $3K included party tickets or it didn't. If it didn't, then it doesn't belong in this conversation.

If you're concerned about how your 6 year old will react, you might want to schedule dinner outside the park.

In a perfect world, those who want to glimpse the parade should have to PAY for it. But the world is not perfect...not by a long shot.

Yes! :) it's just how it is. This is a very touchy subject, I've seen similar threads of this before also with the same out comes. People feel because they are spending "x" amount of money on their Disney vacation they are entitled, and I can totally see why they feel that way spending thousands of dollars on a trip. BUT as mom2rtk said perfectly, unless in your $3000 vacation includes tickets to the party you are not entitled to it and should plan accordingly. The park hours are out months before hand and you can make the reservations months before hand, it all falls in your lap in which you choose to do. But just like some people feel it's wrong because they've spent so much money for their trip, just think what those of us who DO pay for the party feel like with all the extras trying to catch that glimpse, we feel just as entitled. I personally think the cast members go about party nights and clearing the park very well, and it should be done, people who pay to be there deserve to be there and enjoy the party for what is is, they paid for the extra time and event, those who did not should not, it's that simple. I do of course agree if the park closes at 7, everyone that does not have a party ticket should have till the 7th hour. And that is just the right of way on both sides.

I have paid a lot of money annually to be an AP, and yet, I pay the additional fee for the hard ticket events. My admission 365 days a year does not entitle me to the parties, and neither does your vacation at the parks. If you want to enjoy the special event, pay the price. It's that simple. If you don't want to be treated like 'steerage' then pony up and pay the 'first class' (as you see it) fee. Do you sit in coach on an airplane and pout becuase you don't have a spacious seat and an extra pillow and blanket? It's not like the opportunity to stay for the event wasn't available to you. Why try to label the honest people as the ones who are in the wrong?

I agree with others that you should not try to get something you didn't pay for....

with that said- it would be NICE if Disney didn't allow for ADRs past 5:30 without a party ticket however, they do....so that's that.

IMO- I wouldn't take my kid to an ADR on a party night if I didn't have tickets to the party. That's just mean to me. "Here honey, let's look at all the kids dressed up and the parade, OOPS, mom didn't buy the tickets to the party, we have to LEAVE'....I just wouldn't put my kid through that. Might be fine if my child were 12 or 13, but at 7 or 8....no way.

Yeah but then people would complain they aren't getting what they paid for through 7p. There's no win with either one.

Personally I look at it like this: You are free to use all of the park amenities until 7pm. After that, sorry, no. So to get an ADR for 6:50 in order to stay in the park later than you should is shady. I wish they would say no ADRs without a party ticket after 6pm. You want to stay in the park past 7? Buy a party ticket, or go on a different day. It's not hard.

Exactly. Those same people suggesting this would be the first ones in line complaining if Disney did this.

I like how because one person thinks the rules are "silly" that means he should be allowed around them.

Typical entitlement attitude.

I have no problem at all with people having ADRs right up to, but not including 7 PM. But they really do need to be escorted to the exit. Because apparently people cannot be trusted to scoot out on their own. Shocking.
