Do you get the boot on Halloween party nights?

I've never stuck around until 7pm on a party night, so I don't know when wristband checks actually start.

All the waving hands, "exit this way" signs were out in full force on Main Street by 4pm.
That's much more likely simple traffic control following a parade, than any kind of urging out paying guests.

No, that's standard operating procedure on Main Street around the hour of 7 PM on party nights. Parade isn't until 8:15.

Good evening,

I am confused by what I am reading.

We have a reservation at Cinderellas for dinner on Tuesday at 7:15 pm. I chatted with a rep on Saturday and was told it would OK even though we dont have special event tickets?

Was I told the correct answer?

Thanks for the info.

I don't believe you will even be seated unless you have a party ticket. Your reservation would have to before 7. We had a 6:45 LTT on a Christmas party night and were fine, and after our meal we were escorted out by a CM.

Which Tuesday? This Tuesday? If so, you are fine. People are talking about September and October when the Halloween party takes place. If your reservation is on a party night, you will not be fine with a 7:15 reservation and will need to move it to before 7 p.m.

Sadly CMs are notorious for not always having the right answer. Especially when talking about an event that is months away. Personally, I would not risk a reservation past the time when the park officially closes if you do not have a hard ticket for the special event. You don't want to look forward to dining there only to be turned away at the gate.

I've been in MK on party nights. CM's start herding people to the entrance long before 7pm.

They'd better not. If I'm at the Hub at 645 and want to head to BTMRR and reach it by 659, they better let me.

Not true. The park sweep starts at the far extremes of the Lands at the 7:00 announcement and all wrist band checkpoints begin at 7pm. Usually reaches the HUB at about 7:30ish and continues down Main St. to the entry area and completes about 7:45ish.

Glad to hear that this is the policy.

But they're still selling all kinds of full price tickets for MK at 4pm, even one day tickets.

They should let you, because it's your right as a paying ticket holder for that day for the regular day, but I will tell you, they will stop you probably several times on your walk asking if you have a ticket and if so to head over to wrist band areas to get yours, (just before 7), it really goes into full force right at 7. So if I were you and wanted to get on that last ride without the hassles just make it a few more minutes before the very last minute of the day, but that's just my opinion. I would rather not deal with the pushy-ness of the traffic flow and being stopped by cast members and all that, if I wasn't stay for the party. But obviously you do truly have till 7pm. :)

We frequent the parties every year, and even as an AP we feel it's worth it to pay additionally for the hard ticket events because we enjoy them so much. I'm pleased the cast members crack down on those people who try to hide and stay for things they know they didn't pay for. Disney puts out the park hours FAR in advance and those visiting the MK on party days, know when they buy a ticket what time the park closes for them. Attempting to suck more out of Disney (and subsequently from those people like me who do pay extra for the event) remind me of people like my brother-in-law used to have to deal with at a local restaurant. The restaurant had an 'all-you-can-eat' breakfast buffet, which around 10:45 would be switched over to an 'all-you-can-eat' lunch buffet. Some gluttons would come and pay the price for breakfast, eat, then sit and wait until the switch to lunch was done and then they would gorge themselves on the newly put out lunch buffet (which in essence, they didn't pay for.) :rolleyes2

Crisis averted, just got 6:40 reservation same night. Lucky I suppose? We shouldnt have any issues, correct?

All OK!

:welcome: to the DISboards, jknc!

It's pretty simple actually. Park entry for the party is on the East half (Town Sq. Theater side) of the turnstiles (touch-points now) and the northbound traffic up Main St. goes on the East side of the trolley tracks. Anyone exiting the park goes toward the City Hall side on the West (Emporium side) of the trolley tracks as all of the park exits are on the West side turnstile areas.

Just a traffic flow control system of not having the guests exiting the park going out through the party guests coming into the park. Has nothing at all with "urging out" guests, just traffic flow control to attempt to eliminate any more congestion than necessary.

They're not forcing you out at 6:45, more like directing traffic.

I will caveat that though with a report from here on the DIS last year that someone had trouble getting on a ride at around 6:45 being told they had to leave. I do believe that was a rogue CM trying too hard to be effective at clearing out the day guests. If I wanted to do something at 6:45 without a party ticket, I would absolutely be doing it.

I have no problem with someone wanting to get on a ride or do something at 6:59 pm. LOL But once 7:00 pm rolls around, they'd better be ushering everyone without a wristband OUT! People pay extra money to be there and the people that try to "hide" or stay in there longer than they should is really aggravating.

I know others have answered but I honestly, it bears repeating. You will not be seated for dinner, you will not be allowed to buy a soda, you will not be able to enter a CS restaurant, you will not have access to anything, without a hard ticket to the party. If you get an ADR earlier than the party, and check in you should be fine. 7PM and beyond, you are out of luck. CRT is an expensive meal, and one to be enjoyed, so I would really try for an earlier ADR on a party night.

I've worked all except about 6 or 7 of the parties (Halloween & Christmas) for the last 5 years, working Parade Audience Control (which also does the sweep and wristband checks) and we can't/don't start until the 7pm announcement, that's when we actually start doing the wristband checks and the stores, attractions, food service, etc., begin the wristband entry checks. We don't stop anyone prior to that time at any of the bridges, stores or anywhere else.

That has been my experience since they stopped herding party goers into one land! Yes, there have been CMs wearing their Mickey gloves, showing the way out. But that's more like traffic control more than anything. With the party goers coming in between 4 and 7, it's just easier to have one distinct way out of the park!

Glad to see you got an earlier ADR...that will work out just fine!

I'm one that's thrilled with CMs doing their jobs of escorting non-ticketed guests out of the park after the party starts! I have seen guests try to hide in bathrooms, argue with CMs, all manner of bad behaviour. Drives me nuts. The closing time is clearly stated..usually months in advance! Guests know what time the darn park closes...they made the choice to go to that park that day. I get tired of hearing that they aren't getting their monies worth since the park closes 'early'. Perhaps they would be better served by thinking of 7 as the regular park closing time and any later closing times are the exception! And they are getting those addtl hours for the same price as they paid for tickets on days the park closed at 7!

Totally agree. We've been to 14 hard ticket parties. We've paid a lot of money for those events. Yes, everyone should have free reign up until 7 PM. Then they need to continue doing whatever it takes to clear out non-paying guests.
